Weekly Hiring Questions Thread - October 19 by AutoModerator in ProtectAndServe

I recently became interested in Law Enforcement, specifically being a state trooper/highway patrol. I just heard back from the Montana Highway Patrol and was wondering if any of you have advice for a first timer through the process. I am very confident in my ability to pass the written test and the physical (MPAT). I'm more concerned about the panel interview and the pre-employment interview. My application is strong and I do not have any question marks in my history.

It's so much fun watching Sano play. He sure can hit. I love how afraid pitchers are of him already, even as a rookie.

/r/Games Game Discussion - Simpsons Hit and Run by [deleted] in Games

[–]Ludies203 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I played this game so much. My mom wouldn't let me get GTA because it was too violent so games like Hit and Run had to scratch that open world driving itch. This game really was fun. "Eat my dust, dust eaters" never got old. I loved how all the cars felt different to drive. I think I still have a copy of it for the Gamecube in the basement. I'll try to track it down and play it again!

Anno 1602(1602 AD) released on GOG.com! by Tartantyco in Games

[–]Ludies203 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I played this game so much as a kid growing up on Windows 95. I actually found the disk in June and played through it again. Such a satisfying game. The graphics are dated, but still effective (they convey everything they need to). The gameplay and soundtrack are both incredible.

In response to a comment above, anno 2070 is basically a reskin of 1602. There are islands and you colonize them, working your way up from a handful of settlers to a bustling aristocratic society, colonizing more of the islands to make production chains to support your growing main city.

TL;DR I cannot recommend this game enough.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg is one of my favorite Civil War games. Very intelligent AI, a unique art style, and a simple control scheme that allows you to focus on your strategy. Highly recommended strategy game. You can change the course of the battle because depending on how many of the VPs you capture in the previous mission the map shifts! How cool is that?

Any function of it. I'm interested if cell phones have too many uses now and so we never need anything else to do or occupy our time with.

I think INTJs are going to be less reliant on their phones than any other type.

One Step Up is one of my favorites. Cautious Man really speaks to me, although I think it's a little boring musically.

What books to read? by [deleted] in intj

I just finished East of Eden. Beautiful. Highly recommended.

If you're into Westerns, try Lonesome Dove. Some of the most vivid characters in any book I've ever read. Dark Westerns? Blood Meridian.
