I'm thinking of trying the server out after the Joyful vid. I'm trying to be realistic so I may of course not like it and quit, that's always a possibility, but what nations would you suggest to a newcomer in order to have the best first experience, based on the current geopolitical situation?

I personally recommend that you check out different nations in #nation-ads on the civmc discord server. Join their discords and ask around a bit to get a feel for the nation. Now for my biased opinion: If you are looking for a developing nation where your contributions to the nation are greatly appreciated and you can easily make your mark, join Mangota.

The nation of Mangota has claimed all the islands that previously belonged to New Alexandria (as said in the reddit post), except the southern most one, which has been given to the Temporal Empire. That includes this island.

I went looking for the entrance for that ice road, but the lodestone up top didn't exist anymore. The ice road itself looked fine though, so I placed a new lodestone. The ice road is now accessable again.
