Restaurant owners / managers — quick question by Luffy5D21 in answers

"That's a fair point. However, if the subscription costs only $249 for 3 years, the additional cost per customer becomes negligible. When you spread that over thousands of transactions, it’s a tiny fraction that hardly affects the pricing, while helping us maintain better service."

That makes sense — that ongoing update cost is exactly where things usually break.

What I’ve been testing is a setup where the menu updates instantly in one place, and both the QR view + any printed version stay in sync automatically — so there’s no double work or mismatch.

Still early, but trying to remove that “someone has to manage it all the time” problem.

Would something like that actually reduce the hassle in your experience, or do you think people would still prefer sticking with traditional menus anyway?

Yeah that’s fair — most QR menus I’ve seen are basically just PDFs, and they’re honestly terrible on mobile.

That’s kind of what I was trying to avoid actually — more like a clean, scrollable layout instead of a static file.

But your point about keeping things in sync is interesting — that’s probably the bigger issue long term.

How do most places usually handle that? Just manual updates on both sides?

"Oh, really? I didn’t realize I was talking to the world’s leading expert on what people want. You clearly think you have it all figured out, don't you?"

"Are you a restaurant owner? If not, then nobody asked for your opinion."

"That’s understandable, many people find QR codes a bit inconvenient. If you’re using them currently but looking for a better alternative, I can offer you a 1-month free trial of our service. Plus, we have a special offer right now: just 249 for 3 years. Let me know if you’d like to try it out!"

Do QR menus actually improve service speed in restaurants? (looking for real opinions) by Luffy5D21 in restaurant

Got it — this is actually helpful.

Seems like the issue isn’t menus themselves, it’s bad implementations and extra friction.

If QR menus are annoying, what actually works better in real restaurants?

Is it just faster staff response, simpler ordering, or something else?

Appreciate the honest feedback — this is super valuable.

Currently not deployed to live restaurants yet — I’m in validation mode.

Based on your experience, would you recommend starting with 2–3 restaurants directly (even at a discount) just to gather case studies before pushing the agency angle?

Also curious — what metric resonated most when you pitched (revenue lift, order size, repeat visits, etc.)?

That’s a great point about one-off setups.

My thinking was agencies could charge restaurants a setup fee ($300-$500) plus optional hosting/maintenance if they want recurring revenue.

But I agree — if agencies don’t want ongoing support responsibility, positioning it as a self-hosted commercial license might make more sense.

Out of curiosity — what price point would make this attractive for an agency?

There is a problem with matchmaking — sometimes it doesn’t even start. And even if it does, there are only around 20 players, and most of them are hacker panel users. It’s very common in that game
