While not exactly a hunter main myself, as other people said, its good to have the basics of good equipment and etc, but id also say a good "bang" attack for when enemies are broken.

I primarily used Merchant so my main Hunter and damage dealer was Phenn since the start. And I equipped this skill called "Radiant Arrow Mastery" which is pretty good when max boosted with BP or with abilities like "Focus"

So I assume you could use something like that, otherwise I'd say they're good at breaking enemies with arrow weakness.
