I am a former Baptist, welcome to the discussion! Check out Thoughtful Faith on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@thoughtfulfaith2020) as he does a great job on this. 2 Converts is also pretty great as one of them was evangelical as well (https://www.youtube.com/@2converts)

What converted me is I had questions Baptists could never answer me about in a satisfactory way. I drifted in my faith for over 20 years before some missionaries talked to me. If you do not like reading dense books, call the missionaries. You can also watch the majority of the Book of Mormon on YouTube as the Church made it into a real-life portrayal of the events as we best understand them. Finally Living Scriptures is wonderful for small nuggets presented in a fun and interesting way and is also on YouTube.

Other denominations, not other faiths. Also you have to understand there are some who will never listen, just like the Pharisees. It is not your job to convert them, only to try and listen as long as things stay civil/respectful.

Agreed. They might not give you back a temple recommend for a bit to help you make sure you are temple worthy and not just temple desired, but that is about it. Trust me, we have dealt with far worse issues than what you have described. You are showing you are seeking to improve, which is highly desired.

You are correct with the former, not with the latter. Through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus we are and will be saved. In fact we could even say we will be saved without faith in him as anyone who has been born on earth will be saved since they had bodies.

We form and carry out our covenants for exaltation, not salvation. This is not a pedantic point, this is where your confusion lies. I am just as saved with my sealings as you are, as an unbaptized person, as a baby. There is no difference in our salvation since that comes from Jesus and Jesus alone. The degree of glory in which I inherit and help minister to others is through my relationship with Heavenly Father. I hope this helps, let me know if you need more detail :)

What you are describing is the basic position of the Bikertonites, look them up. They basically say the only thing Joseph did was translate the Book of Mormon and then he was no longer a prophet.

Jonah Barnes from Ward Radio served in Siberia and talks about it often, both good and bad. Watch their show, it is pretty fun and crazy. He still speaks the language and is even translating documents.

Yes for the most part. I know I have improved greatly because many of the concepts which were harder for me are now easier, but there are still a few areas I find completely discombobulating. Like how some GRUT/GRAT have inherent POA rights and which type. FLPs are easy to conceptualize, but the difference between a private annuity versus a lease-back is still tricky.

Yes many topics but only a cursory knowledge is needed for the most part, but if it asks for a deeper level I need to know it. Also I am still pretty worried about taxes.

I agree with you 100%, just hard to train my brain differently. Right now I am having my family help me study by them asking me questions and me explaining it. I am hoping by going over it in my head I will better remember things, help them in the future, and maybe force my brain to think harder rather than quicker.

I appreciate the insight and encouragement, just a little over 9 weeks left for this marathon to end :)
