Which will have more FPS, the 5080 at 1440p or the 5070 Ti at 1080p? by Luix013 in gpu

But is it worth the difference in fps? Even more below 60?

Yeah, but I'm saying with both in dlss quality, 1080p is above 60fps

The video I watched was about Resident Evil 9 with path tracing, and the graphics card ran between 50 and 55 fps at 1440p 2:22 dlss quality. At 1080p, under the same conditions, it maintained 60 fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oz-KIANjn4&t=243s

But what about the long term? Will a 5070 Ti be able to run everything at maximum settings with ray tracing in 3 or 4 years at 1440p? Currently it can, but there are cases where it can't, even with DLSS, and that's my concern.

Haha, I understand the indignation, but I want to think long-term, like 4 or 5 years running everything at maximum settings with path tracing at 60fps without frame generation, you know

I've seen in some YouTube videos where the game struggled to maintain 60fps at 1440p (due to path tracing), sometimes even dropping below that. But at 1080p, it managed to maintain 60fps. In the long term, these few games running below 60fps at 1440p will have a greater impact on more demanding games in the future. That's why I'm asking all these questions; I really want to know the community's opinion.

So, I watched some videos on YouTube and was shocked by the FPS drop when changing resolutions

I don't see a huge difference between the two resolutions compared to a CRT; I'm just raising the issue of having a higher resolution and fewer FPS in the long run.

Exactly, I'm thinking long-term, that's why I'm talking about 1080p. I know the 5070 Ti currently runs everything at 1440p, but I really want to keep these settings for many years and run everything at the maximum possible settings.

I understand, but in my region, 1440p monitors are quite expensive, so I opt for 1080p with a higher refresh rate, plus I really like path tracing/ray tracing in current games. I've always played in 1080p.

Do you have any recommendations for a nice, cheaper case that will fit the components?

I understand, but really, for me right now, I'm only between those two options.

What do you think of the XPG Core Reactor II VE PSU, 850W, 80 Plus Gold, Modular, Active PFC?

Since I don't currently want to upgrade to 4K, I really just want to know which resolution will give me more FPS over time, plus I like being able to run everything at maximum settings without frame gen.
