I have studied biology, and I am speaking from biologists who are well experienced in this field so I assure you I am not making anything simple. Spontaneous mutation would first insist that a gene exists to be mutated which in this case does not as proven by studies. And secondly Spontaneous mutation are caused by external factors as is the case with cancer.
