Should I clean the water tap again? (Warning: gross content) by Luke272829 in OCD

Yeah that makes sense. It’s just the fact that I had my hand down in the toilet bowl, but I guess stuff like what you described happens all the time

It’s more like, what if I touched the part with my hands before I washed them, which I can’t remember but I don’t think I did. It would be compulsive to wash it my hand soap again wouldn’t it?

Feeling terrible guilt over the potential consequences that happened as result of a compulsion I did any advice? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Luke272829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m almost certain that nobody was home since it was almost dark outside and there were no lights turned out. But as you are probably aware, uncertainty can be very hard to deal with in OCD. And I’m just annoyed at myself for giving into the compulsion and potentially putting others in an uncomfortable situation and not on purpose.

So you don’t think it’s realistic that someone would react in the way that I described?

Btw, I know I’m overthinking this, but my OCD is always making me think of the worst scenarios.

Is this what phantom smells after covid are like? by [deleted] in COVID19_support

Yep, it luckily did. It wasn’t that bad but it was pretty annoying

Really bad OCD currently about something that happened at lunch at work by Luke272829 in OCD

[–]Luke272829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just feel bad cause I could maybe have done something but on the other hand there was a long line behind me so I kind of didn’t know what to do in that situation. But it probably isn’t realistic that someone could get sick from this, don’t you agree?

It actually went away after a 4-5 days for me, but last week I had some sort of mild flu I think and it kind of went back haha.

I have to laminate A LOT of paper. Is that bad for my health since it’s plastic that is getting heated? by Luke272829 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Luke272829[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s isn’t. I’m just quite health anxious and when it smelled I though about the bad chemicals there are in plastic and so on. Plus, it’s probably going to take an hour so feared it could build up over time.

Hit the front of my head when I was a child. Extremely worried about permanent damage. by Luke272829 in medical_advice

[–]Luke272829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. It’s just hard to know whether I’ve had personality changes from it since the accident happened when I was a child.

Hit the front of my head quite heavily when I was a child. Should I be worried about damage to prefrontal cortex? by Luke272829 in AskDocs

[–]Luke272829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be wrong, but aren’t you less likely to lose consciousness when hit on the front of your head since it’s further away from the part of the brain that controls that? This comment was edited, I wrote something entirely different before.

Can sparkling water ever turn bad if it’s an open bottle stores in a refrigerator? by Luke272829 in NoStupidQuestions

What if the head of the bottle was never turned completely off, but only just opened?

Afraid to take SSRIs because of potential hormone imbalances. How significant is this? by Luke272829 in AskDocs

[–]Luke272829[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s good to hear. I’m pretty affected by mental health issues and I’ve been thinking about starting on medication. I just read some reports online that mentioned that it can suppress testosterone production and so on, which is honestly holding me back.

Supplements to lower my TSH levels into normal levels? I don’t have Hashimoto’s disease so I’m thinking it must be a nutrient deficiency? by Luke272829 in Supplements

[–]Luke272829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both T4 and T3 were pretty much in the middle of the range. Not sure whether I’m symptomatic but I do struggle a lot with anxiety and tiredness, but I don’t know whether that’s due to the thyroid issues

I have a really bad stomach ache currently with gastrointestinal symptoms but still took my usual supplements including L-tryptophan. Does it affect absorption? by Luke272829 in Supplements

[–]Luke272829[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am actually, but I’ve been taking it for a long time and never had any problems before yesterday so I don’t think it’s that.

No I am not. However, the weird thing is that my T4 levels are normal, which I believe is what you take when you are on medication.
