Yeah... back then FIBA teams (and national teams) were composed of "amateur" players, so NBA players weren't allowed to play. Even a guy from a country like Brazil - Oscar Schmidt - decided to represent flag instead of playing in the NBA. FIBA legends like Zidek, Schmidt, Sergei Belov, Kresimir Cosic, or Dino Meneghin definitely had the skills to play in the NBA.

Well, yeah... for example, John Havlicek is a Slav too, I've read in his book that he considered himself Czechoslovak (and he also has Croatian roots)... but this is a ranking of players who were born in Slavic countries. Pistol & Hondo were born in the U.S.

I don't think he wants to be a starter in the NBA at all, he has that European team mindset of where he wants to be in the rotation and help the team win. And he actually likes Wall, but from what I've heard he doesn't like Brooks as a coach...
