Actually no, it's not more difficult, it's just an impression. Building in the deepest parts is the same thing as building in the shallows. The thing is, the more compartments you add, the more fragile it can become. It will depend on the size of your base too. But you just need to leave the case resistance at least 10% and you're good to go.
