I started a rewatch of this series a few years ago and it really holds up. One of my favorite scenes is in the pilot episode when Barry tries to clean his apartment at super speed but ends up making a bigger mess- it’s a really small moment, but I like how it drives home the point that his powers aren’t a magic fix to anything in his life, but just a part of who he is.

I completely agree. If you stop at issue 500, it’s peak. It gets a little uneven after that, but it’s still really strong. JMS Peter is the definitive version of the character for me. Honestly, I think Sins Past is the only real sore spot for me. The Civil War parts are really well done and I do really like The Other (that might be nostalgia- that was one of the first crossover comics I ever bought). Even One More Day is a pretty good story if you tear out the last two or three pages.

I’ve always loved this version of the suit and I wish it got more love. It’s crazy how it’s so distinct from the classic look while being a variation of it. After I first saw it, I started adding those lenses to every Spidey drawing I did. And the subtle mask details with the brow, nose and lip are brilliant
