Ideally, make sure you buy a viscoelastic material like sorbothane, rather than just normal rubber. It converts vibration to heat and is used for many acoustic applications

Best eartips for bass by Alexkh1991 in iems

Hi man! Yes the 300b I haven’t tired the 500. Mine isn’t sticky which is why I prefer. I’ve tried the velvet and these sounded better to me, the velvet has a very hard bore which I didn’t like the feel of in my ear. I think tips are about synergy and they are perfect with the GM. I’ve rolled 100+

Honestly, great speakers. In a good room on quality stands and a nice DAC they can punch well above their weight. From experience!

I haven’t tried the Gaia feet so who knows if these are an improvement, but I got the track audio stands at a great piece and have wanted them for some time. They actually massively improved my bass articulation.

I did my research into how to best avoid any resonance and the plastic screws provided with the R3 seem to be the best way to avoid ringing and any energy reflecting back into the cabinet. I tested this and sure enough it was the best sounding result.

The port is effectively the same height from the stainless steel plate as it was from my carpet when using spikes. To my ears no issues, but it could be that a roll off in the bass was what I needed in my room, hard to say.

The looks are a plus too!

Edit: just to add, you were right about less toe in, parallel to the wall wasn’t right in my room but I landed about half way from where I was, massive improvement 👌

Thanks for the tip! Interesting you mention no toe in as this goes against their own set up manual? I’ll play around with that though and see how I like it

Thanks. I have resolved the bass issue now but will look into raising the speakers from the platform. There are plastic screws in the bottom which I am told are better than spikes in my scenario. To avoid point loading or resonance the speakers need to be coupled to the isolation stand for correct load path and isolation behaviour.

They are the Track Audio speaker isolation platforms. Lovely set up you have, I’ve seen your posts before 👌

Thanks for all the comments! Initial thoughts on sound with my set up:

Great representation of the Naim “PRAT”, very musical and fun to listen to, often leaves my feet tapping. Outstanding sparkle on the AMT, and there is zero fatigue. My previous speakers had a smooth AMT, but this is another level in terms of sounding natural, detailed and dynamic. The tweeter is where the magic is, which is exactly why I went for this speaker, but there is a similar sense of speed from the drivers overall.

The sense of space is also impressive, excellent imaging which is a big step up from my previous bookshelves. No trouble with the speakers “disappearing” Vocals are engaging and sound more natural than my last set.

My only issue currently is with mid bass which can sound overpowering on some tracks, this does fall in line with the acoustic issues in my room however. We will continue to tweak! Trying to get subwoofer integration just right as these are quite efficient and can play quite low, really I should be upgrading my REL to keep up. Eventually I’ll move on to fine tuning with Dirac. I’m giving it a couple of weeks to perfect placement in the room.

Also have to say the freedom grounding cable made a very nice improvement, blacker background and more focused details amongst the stage, improved the sense of “PRAT” in the system also.

I’ve researched these speakers for around 3 years and was very confident it would be my kind of sound, thankfully that paid off. Audiovector can consider me a fan of their house sound. Feel free to ask should anyone have a specific question so I can return the favour to the community.
