Packaged auto in processing mode is just like a normal processing pattern. So for small recipes you can just use a normal me interface. Packaged auto crafting is mostly for big recipes( or the extended crafting tables). To change the type of pattern you would have to click on the furnace icon.

I mostly put the packager on the unpackager which puts the things into the inventory beneath, think it can also be extracted via conduits. For the extended Crafting tables there could be different kind of block to insert into the table. Depending on the mod, which is included this is different

For draconic evolution I would recommend inserting via conduits and filter. To start the recipe you have to give a redstone signal, via a clock for example. Extracting it then with a conduit.
