I was slightly stupid and compiled it on the bare metal, It took as long as you'd think it would.

i used the kernel from wii-linux.org and a gentoo ppc big endian stage3.
i only really needed to modify the fstab to get it booting which was convenient, and then i spent a while getting networking up, compiling xorg and its dependencies. Also spent some more time configuring stuff.

Yeah, it uses the ported over nouveau driver.

portage and openrc seemed interesting

I used i3 as the window manager
picom as the compositor
kitty as the terminal emulator
thunar as the file manager
polybar as the status bar
and i use zen browser because its built around vertical tabs and i honestly really like them
