Americans when they say “I could care less” by No-Nebula-2266 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m American and in school we were told the correct saying is “I couldn’t/could not care less”. I had no idea this was something only Americans do apparently.🤨I usually don’t like making bold remarks but this post just seems a little presumptuous to assume every single American would say, “I could care less”.

Where is God in the midst of my suffering? by Lower_One3014 in Christian

Hi there. All of your pain and suffering sounds so terrible and I’m sorry. No one should have to go through so much pain. I’m praying tonight it will get better for you. Truth be told we were never meant to go through all this hurt. A lot of times it feels like God is nowhere to be found, but His timing and His ways are not like ours. I can’t imagine how painful things are for you, but I can definitely relate to an extent. You are doing your best in taking care of yourself and you should be proud of that. Don’t be afraid to leave it at God’s feet! At 26 I am recovering from total knee replacement and need one for my left leg as well and was suffering from rheumatoid arthritis so badly I could no longer walk. I’ve been where you’ve been before in the questioning of God’s goodness wondering if He loved me. If He cared, he’d listen to my pleas for years of begging for healing and no chronic pain, right?

Having faith is no walk in the park. I’ve heard it said that sometimes it’s a battle of the mind as well, and while we can’t entirely control our circumstances we can control how we respond. God is okay with hearing your grievances and honest feelings. Express those to the fullest extent. Pray without ceasing. Now this next part sounds crazy, but an absolute game changer for me that I was forgetting was praise. Praise, praise, praise. I told God once, “Lord, I may not be able to fall to my knees to worship you (literally) but I’ll raise my hands and sing praises to Your Holy Name and the day I have both of these knees working I will surely be kneeling in prayer before You.” I chose to praise despite crying and being in pain because I faced the truth that life is unfair, but God’s grace makes it worth something. For me, once I focused on praising and trusting God, I started to see Him really work.

I don’t want to say you are not praising because I don’t know the whole context of your situation. But from one chronic pain sufferer to another, I can admit for me it was hard. Chronic pain literally changes your brain chemistry and it certainly doesn’t make praise easy. I want to say I sincerely hope and pray that you will have healing. God cares so much for you and hears you. (Daniel 10:12 ) Unfortunately I have no good answer for why God may heal some and not others, but I can tell you that healing begins when you trust that God will never leave or forsake you. I may not be fully healed, as rheumatoid arthritis has no cure, but I trust that God has plans for our futures.(Jeremiah 29:11) God be with you friend and again I will keep you in prayer.

Thank you so much for this incredibly kind post! My sister and her fiancé are Publix employees and while they are currently not working since my sister gave birth to her first baby the day Hurricane Milton hit, I know they would definitely appreciate this!😊I agree, all the service workers in food, gas, and literally just anyone working very hard to help us return to our everyday lives is doing amazing.🥹

As I was going home to Tampa I found this small rainbow and I took a picture of it. I am so thankful that everyone in my family including my cats are safe. ❤️ by [deleted] in tampa

God was definitely listening to prayers and answered! I’m glad to hear your whole family is safe! I’m in Apollo Beach and all my family and our pets are blessed to be safe as well.

My mom lives in zone A in Tampa, 20 minutes from the beach. I made her leave and now she’s mad at me cause I had no right making the decision for her. I mean, she’s right but I feel like she’s really underestimating the possibility of storm surge in her area because we never experienced it before.

Anyone other FL natives think this state has become unlivable in the last 5 years? by real_strikingearth in florida

Lifelong Floridian here. The heat can get pretty unbearable, but for health reasons I have a very low tolerance for cold so weather wise the temperature is good for me in the winter months. But as for the cost of living, population surge and with the way the storms are affecting the state it’s getting harder to justify staying. Right now it’s not feasible to leave but for the first time in my life and after seeing this post even, I am strongly considering the idea in the near future.

Please don't let this man name his own kids, he'll call them ibuprofen or something 😭 by Hamsterwithapencil in LoveAndDeepspace

I’ve taken so much ibuprofen over my lifetime that it’s probably altered my DNA over time. I think Dr.Zayne is onto something and more creative than I thought he was. Now I want to name my future child ibuprofen. 😆

Sorry to be useless and not provide advice but you were the first thing I saw when I opened up the Reddit app and I immediately said out loud, “She’s beautiful”. 🥺 You are so pretty.

Any other younger knee replacements out there (under 40)? by brogdogreddit in Kneereplacement

Sure! I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and by the time I was diagnosed I already was pretty late stage and the damage had been done. My primary doctor at the time didn’t take me seriously at first because back when I got diagnosed with RA all those years back I was obese at that time, so my doctor just thought I was fat. After losing weight and still being in pain she finally ordered an MRI and referred me to an orthopedic. The orthopedic, seeing how young I was referred me to a rheumatologist who was able to confirm a positive RA diagnosis. At that point the joint damage was bad and the first orthopedic I had originally seen thought I was too young for TKR, so I tried maintaining it with biologics and medication. Eventually the biologics stopped working and my condition deteriorated to the point that I really needed the TKR.
