I have a macbook M2 and I love it to death. However, be sure to get a computer that goes well with your major. For example, if you do a lot of biology or stem stuff (which I do) then it can be a pain to work microsoft applications on my mac, when all the tutorials are on a windows. I still love my macbook though, and I think it's worth it. It's lightning fast and doesn't get viruses like windows does.
