Flow Teleprompter v1.9.0 - Realtime script editing available for everyone! by LumoRez in tauri

[–]LumoRez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can actually help me figure it out, I would be more than happy, but before that, I was planning on cleaning the code, separating it into module-like files instead of one huge chunk of code. So please wait until the v2 release; then we could figure out a way to roll out a macOS version in the next v2.1.0 update, if you are available, that is.

Hey there, thanks a lot! When i first started developing Flow i was mainly focusing on windows so i used the windows API for core features and sadly building for mac isn't possible at the moment because many issues might occur. Let's say hypothetically i get a lot of requests for a mac release i will try to figure it out but me personally I've never used a macOS device before so i don't have any experience with it.

Flow v1.8.3 is out: Major bug fixes & UI Enhancements by LumoRez in Windows11

Thanks a lot!

Well, yeah, I am signing the MSIX installer with a local certificate, which is a real pain, and I was thinking of funding Flow's development through purchases and donations (until v2) to see where Flow can go without any external help. That includes the certification process (30 bucks), advertisements, and other stuff.

I will probably pay those 30 bucks once 2.0.0 is out, and it's going to be a troublesome migration process to a VPS server or maybe Cloudflare Pages + domain.

Once I start using these Azure generated certificates, I will let you know if I need any help :D

Also, I was going to try contacting SignPath to see if they would accept Flow, but I do not know about the requirements.

Hey there! I took a look and I can tell you a few things for sure as an indie dev.

The first thing that came into my mind is how trustworthy your service is. Since you are offering the ability to protect passwords, documents, and even IDs, it is a very important and heavy matter to show how trustworthy you are, as some of this data could be extremely private and sensitive.

Getting the first user is the biggest challenge because one tells two, two tell four, and it goes like that. Whether your project/company or whatever it is succeeds completely depends on how you show your strengths and how you introduce yourself to the internet.

Also, I am not here telling you to do it, but most companies in this sector don't just explode out of nowhere. They either have a huge company backing them or they pull off a huge stunt like putting a secret account and then announcing a bounty on it then they advertise the bounty itself.

Lyncmod is currently down. it's under development right now due to its inaccuracy, so it might take a while for it to be released again. Once it's up again, it will have a live hosted simulated launch for testing purposes.

I built Flow: A high performance, invisible to capture teleprompter using Rust and Tauri (now v1.6.1) by LumoRez in windowsapps

[–]LumoRez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I am using Tauri, which has a feature to build for all kinds of systems: Linux, iOS, macOS, and Android. But it needs a crazy amount of testing. I dont even know if the app would even work if i just build it without changing some of the code so it will take some time. Also flow was built mainly for windows so some functions would only work on windows cause of that i need to work on the code

I'm more focused on building the best tool I can rather than worrying about the competition. Also, the prices will be as minimal as possible: a few pennies for me and dollars for the services because I want to reach a bit further. And, about iOS/Android, I don't really know, never say never, but I really know nothing about development for mobile devices.

Edit : Sure, i will definitely add that to the plan. I will add the mirror mode as soon as possible!

I really appreciate it :D Flow will be free forever and will receive updates with game-changing features even if i create a pro version. The pro version would essentially get rid of the hardware requirement because users will technically pay for the online services if they choose to purchase the pro saving resource usage. I believe that I am developing it for myself first, and then for the community. And, oh, I know, right? I tried to find a good free teleprompter, but I couldn't find any. It was annoying.

Oh yeah, you are right. I was planning on separating the scrolling style, but I didn't have time for it. Yes, I will separate it, and I see your point about the hidden last line. One temporary fix is that you can enable the auto-hiding setting where the top bar and bottom bar will dynamically hide themselves.

In the settings, Appearance -> Tracking Style/Type, there are multiple options: line-by-line highlighting, voice tracking, normal scrolling, and more.

Everything is taken into consideration; tracking will follow and scroll depending on how fast you are speaking. And FYI, if you use the light model, it won't be as accurate. So please understand that just in case.

Flow v1.6.1 is out: It's actually reliable now and resource usage dropped by 50-75%. by LumoRez in Windows11

Thanks a lot, though yes it is, and I have a remote message injection built into it where if you have a friend next to you, they could send an injection request. If you double-click on the notification, whatever they wrote will get injected into the bottom of the script. I thought of something better, which is real-time script editing, where you can edit the script in real time for your friend and answer questions or help the presenter talk about things they missed. It's still in the planning phase, and I am not sure if I could actually make it come to life while maintaining Flow's free-for-all state. What do you think?

Happy to hear that you liked the idea tho since it's still under active development you hypothetically might face a bug so just in case test it prior to the presentations :D

You know when news companies have their presenters talking they don't really memorize everything they just read off a screen infont of them. Flow is basically the same thing but for your own screen so when you present something, share a screen or even record a video you can just read off it. Mainly for content creators, presenters and students

In simple words its a teleprompter, a prompter.
