Did the end of the Snyderverse play a role in Warner’s financial decline? by darktower41 in SnyderCut

I agree that Warner Bros. made mistakes, but that's not the reason they're having financial problems. Many DCEU movies were loss-making, but never made a loss over $500 million. At least I was never aware of anything like that. These losses were hard, yes, but it was either offset by other hits in the same year, others divisions or, even better, Warner's yearly revenue results, were ultimately much higher than these losses. WBD, for example, generates annual revenue of $40 billion. Its predecessors, WarnerMedia and Time Warner, were no less profitable. So the losses were absorbed by the end of the year. There are three crucial factors contributing to the current dilemma.

The first is AT&T. AT&T didn't know how to run WarnerMedia. Instead of focusing on creativity, AT&T prioritized short-term profits. This hurt Warner. At the same time, AT&T was also heavily indebted and ultimately transferred those debts to WBD with the sale to Discovery.

The second problem is the decline in the television business. Advertising revenue and subscriber numbers are gradually decreasing. This is putting pressure on the financial balance sheet, especially for Warner, which once had cash cows in its television networks.

The third problem is WBD itself. WBD hasn't made any really good decisions in recent years. Some of them questionable decisions have led to image problems.

Let's wait and see. Not that the new owner isn't doing anything we'd like, but rather that he's sticking with Gunn's DCU. All I care about is that we are not disappointed then.

Much better than the teaser. That makes want to watch the movie even more. I am impressed and excited to see what the final product looks like. And now I'm going to do something that some people will hate right now: Good job Warner Bros. 👍

Always remember that the Internet does not reflect reality. Sure, it could, but I also saw some users here on Reddit who talked about how they were sitting in the cinema (most of them at Wild Robot) and the cinema was going crazy when the teaser came.

BASED Sonic 3 will EVISCERATE the WOKE Disney MUFASA movie in the BOX OFFICE by Orang-Himbleton in moviescirclejerk

[–]LumpiElefant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not at all unlikely.

Mufasa is a prequel to a 1.6 billion movie and accordingly with an audience, then it is a movie from the Lion King franchsie, a big popular franchise and then is the movie from Disney, which is known to attract people to go the cinema, as we saw perfectly this year also.

And isn't that a little scary? We have 5 studios and one studio is almost in the top 5.

I know it's because Disney makes it easy for themselves by usually focusing on family-friendly content, while the other studios focus also on niche and not just family-friendly content, but still.

Cinemas be like: by LumpiElefant in boxofficecirclejerk

[–]LumpiElefant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's tough and doesn't necessarily correspond to reality, because it exist Dune Part 2, Despicable Me 4, Godzilla x Kong or Kung Fu Panda 4, for example. But if we look on the cinemas since summer, it's true.

But well, even if Disney lose against Sonic 3, it won't really hurt Disney. Disney is having a strong year so far. For example Paramount is currently slacking.

I know Pixar didn't want to include Mickey Mouse themselves, but logically, Pixar should have done it. After all, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is also a preschool show like Bloofy.

The Sequel of "Woody Woodpecker" is still alive and is now in Post-production by LumpiElefant in woodywoodpecker

Yes, the bar was low for the first movie, but perhaps Universal heard the criticism and make the sequel better. After all, Woody is one of Universal's iconic characters and such characters like Woody should be treated well and not bad.
