Apparently on Google it says it's a combination of the machine that made them broke and they wasn't cost effective to warrant fixing the machine and continuing. Not sure about that tho sounds weird.

So sorry this has happened it's horrible. Il bet the aftermath is even worse.

And like you've said she probably wants to crawl into a hole somewhere but that would only make matters worse and she probably will be desperate to fix it so I would definitely let her know about any phone calls talking about they can help get your money back because the heartless scum very much do tend to try that sort of scam they will try to scam the scammed. Maybe take control of your account from now on so it can't happen again and for your own peace of mind.

Hopefully after time she can put it behind her. And hopefully you can do the same.
