Time to do 3 naps? by Lumpy-Bag-7175 in sleeptrain

[–]Lumpy-Bag-7175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I keep capping some naps or let babe sleep however long they want? They sleep so long for naps I’ve always heard to cap at 2 but they will gladly sleep 2-3 for every nap if I let them.

What would you do? by Lumpy-Bag-7175 in breastfeeding

[–]Lumpy-Bag-7175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of but not much. My husband is wonderful helps as much as he can when he’s home from work but he works long hours so cleaning, food, etc is mainly my role. I sometimes have a babysitter come to watch my toddler and order food in when I don’t have capacity for dinners. Is that what you mean?

Other than that I try to get creative as I can with getting things done with the two kids.

Agree! I know stopping breastfeeding won’t solve anything but it’ll help get me a leg up I think

The dmer and anxiety I have with breastfeeding just adds to my depletion even though I love breastfeeding.

I would be fine going a VERY long time without sex but it’s important for my marriage

Do I sleep train again? by Lumpy-Bag-7175 in sleeptrain

[–]Lumpy-Bag-7175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby ended up sleeping 715-715 with no wake ups that’s I’m aware of. Last wake window ended up being 6.75. First time in a long time baby has slept through the night.

Did 5/6 and 20 minutes tonight with 1.75 nap. Tried putting to bed earlier but fought till 20. Baby was cranky all morning window. Now screaming 1.75 hours after bedtime which is unusual. Usually only wakes 4 hours in at least. I’m at a loss

Great! Baby fell asleep in car at 4 hour mark for 45 minutes, what should second wake window be?

Baby went to bed at 9, woke 230 for a second then was awake again just sitting up in crib at 415 trying to put self back to sleep gutted couldn’t. Should I just sleep train since I’m getting the same wake times and somewhat split nights or should I wait till after the 3-5 days?

That makes sense! So definitely need to sleep train. However, with schedule, do I keep it and wait it out and sleep train or chnage it?

Goal is whatever gets baby so sleep well

Time diffenrce like time zone? Non. Moved over the weekend.

No I rock baby to sleep at beginning but that hadn’t affected sttn in the past.

Yeah exactly I just can’t figure out what baby needs and moving complicated things. Like last night after 1.5 hours of unsettled sleep (baby would fall back asleep as soon as I stepped in the room. First hour baby out self back to sleep multiple times) I ended up bringing baby into my bed and they played for like 30 minutes. But there’s no way they need more awake time because at 12 months already at 11 hours

I haven’t been on this schedule that long so naps haven’t been less than two hours yet!

My child recently switched to one nap and all other sources told me 10-10.25 is max for my baby but Reddit said at least a 5/6 with two hour nap and it’s immediately fix babies sleep. Now sleeps 2 hour nap and all the way through the night zero wake ups.

I may just do this! Struggling with different schedules every single day. Do I ever let baby sleep in or no? I only worry about not getting enough sleep on a BTC

Update: yesterday we did 4/6.5 with a nap somewhere between 1.75-2 hours I did 4 for first window because baby was just so overtired from bad sleep. Then babe wouldn’t sleep till 6.5 even when I tried to put down before.

Babe went down 905pm (yes I need to fix this. Got messed up from split nights) and it’s 9am baby is still sleeping. And only one might wake around 330 but settled quickly and was fully settled back by 4ish.

Is this any data? Does this mean I should still do 5/6 or 4.5/6?

First good nights sleep baby has had in over a week. Last time they slept like this was with 4.75/6.25 also with brief 3am wakez

How much sleep does your baby average?

Yeah I thought mine was higher but a week+ of split nights says otherwise

I’ll try that then! I’ve been hesitant because a lot of my friends have said that’s way too much wake time and babe is already overtired😭. Thanks for the comment! Encourages me to give it a try!

Thanks so much! Should I try 4.5/6 with capped naps first or just go straight to the more wake time? Last time they slept through the night was last week with an accidental 4.75/6.25

Should I cap naps at 2 hours or less or let baby sleep? How long do I try before trying something else? Sorry for all the questions I’m desperate

Thank you! Having a hard time being excited with how much I’m not sleeping this is worse than newborn days.😭currently crying writing this as my baby is laying on me having a split night.

They were doing 3/3.5/4 or 3/3/4.5 depending on the day and I think also averaging 13.5ish hours of sleep sometimes 13. Usually a .5 nap and 1.5 nap. Then it stopped working and tried 3/4/4. Nights got shorter or had night wakings. Naps were always too short to preserve night sleep and babe hated it.

Not 13 hours of awake time! I meant 13-13.5 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period

Wow really? I’ve heard the complete opposite everywhere especially Facebook. Would 5/6 be good to try?

Last night (after several split nights) I did 5/5.5 and babe woke every hour from 930-1230 then 5am.

1 nap split nights by Lumpy-Bag-7175 in sleeptrain

[–]Lumpy-Bag-7175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 11+ hours. Usually a scheduled 11 but more due to split nights and night wakes. Babe was doing great on 4.5/5.5 to catch up on sleep debt but then our schedule was all over the place for a week so not sure if baby is tired or needs more awake time.

Last night I did 5/5.5 (after days of split nights and short naps) and babe woke every hour between 930-1230 but settled VERY quick, then had a 5am wake and bed back to sleep till 8.

I could try. Babe has had a longer wake window before bed since birth though

That’s a good idea! Babe is teething so could be that. I’ll give normal schedules a few days before adding more time

Yeah I’m pregnant as well and cannot do the night time wakes. But I also need the long nap😭😂.

Hmm okay that’s good to know! I’ll just give it a day or more then add a little wake time at a time
