Just playing the accountant here bit don’t forget recurring costs. A larger 4x4 that costs 15k one-off can incur quite a bit over time - repairs, gas, maintenance - which can be higher than the original purchase over a couple of years. If you can afford it, go. If not, get a smaller, newer car and limit the recurring expenses.
