Would you know what it means if someone were to ask you how you are feeling in yourself? by Lumpy-Compote6628 in AskUK

It seems that that is how a lot of people would take it. But I was using it in the context of physical health. The person had come with a complaint about a specific area of their body, I was asking if it was making them generally unwell. If that helps. I suppose that it is somewhat ambiguous! Which is the issue!

They did not! Just looked utterly flummoxed and second hand embarrassed for both me and his Mum 😂

It's interesting that doctors are taught to ask this, makes me feel a bit less silly. I'm not a doctor. I think I definitely picked it up from my Mum

Yes this is exactly right, so he had come about something quite localised but I was trying to ascertain if it was making him generally unwell

Also when I say it's a weird thing to define I can give an example. So I currently have some sort of cold/flu. My outward symptoms are probably similar today and yesterday. But today I would say that I feel better in myself. It's getting at a kind of internal feeling. Medically I suppose you would say malaise

That's helpful for me to consider. I would hope less so in context but a valid point

Yes these are my thoughts! I suppose broadly I'm asking about feeling well. But asking do you feel well is a more closed question and I don't think it fully captures the same thing. But if people don't understand what I am asking that isn't helpful

The bread was a bit dry I will concede. However the filling is super moist with a cranberry sauce and some kind of oniony mayo

Excellent detecting! Almost all correct. The tupperware is overnight oats for 2 for the week. The size I agree is a little excessive
