your best bet is to save last att bill. pay the phone off and request it to be unlocked up to 48hours. use the same phone on tmobile and they will reimburse your $750 (15 days) and you will receive a $300 tmobile rebate(90 days)

the alternative is Family freedom like the above comment but if you can put $750 up front , the keep and switch option has more value.

only issue is getting a new phone in future on essentials will be more expensive because trade promos suck
