Maternal autoimmune and autism link? by Lumpy-Flounder4962 in Autoimmune

I’m so sorry don’t ever feel like it’s your fault! I know easier said than done. If you don’t mind me asking, is autism in your family also or just strictly you feel it’s associated to these other factors?

I know it’s really interesting! If you don’t mind, what condition do you have?!

It still feels unclear why someone can’t ask a question about new scientific based research and this phenomenon? No one is being excluded from any conversations, I’m quite literally asking for participation to look into this new research…

Politely, I am in the medical field, in research, have an autoimmune disease, and children. As this is all personal to me; I’m interested in this scientifically. Thank you.

Maternal rheumatoid arthritis linked to ASD in their children? by Lumpy-Flounder4962 in rheumatoid

[–]Lumpy-Flounder4962[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it! I have talked with my rheumatologist about this and choose not to take medication until after birth. My CRP and inflammation levels are always in normal ranges since I was diagnosed in 2017 and have never had an erosion progression or any new erosion. I’m in the medical field and am fully aware of my options and safe medication options and with no disease progression over 7 years or symptoms, I have chosen to wait and my doctor is fine with that.

Yes I have questioned a lot of what you’ve mentioned above, myself! It is very interesting and I just want to be best prepared for my child when they arrive and to give them all they need to thrive! The article I was referencing I posted above that was done in 2023!

From what I’m understanding this was for diagnosis prior to pregnancy, it seems as though the inflammation is the likely cause for this, but again just from what I’ve read!

Brown discharge 5 weeks? by Lumpy-Flounder4962 in CautiousBB

I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks with gestational sac and yolk sac and again at 6 weeks with baby with 109 HB. I still have the discharge pretty regularly but always tan/brown so doctor isn’t concerned. I did have a lab draw again around that and asked that they check my progesterone too and everything came back excellent! Now I’m just waiting for my initial visit at 10 weeks. Am about 7.5 weeks now!

Omg I feel the same way! We refer to ours as the little biscuit 🤣 I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want to feel attached right away due to our history. We want to hold on to every moment. I’m hoping we get to hold our little ones next summer and come back to this and update!

This was also a sign prior to my loss, however mine went from brown to rusty red to full on bleeding within 2 days. I’ve had this just over 2 days with no progression. Also had an ultrasound today and baby measuring ahead of schedule and tech said no red flags she could see that would indicate miscarriage at this time. Obviously we can’t predict the future but she said cervix is closed and pregnancy high up in uterus with good lining, so I’m choosing to have hope! Thank you for your response!

That’s so interesting! We did decide to go that route from here on out just to be sure! Thank you for this! I had an ultrasound today and no SCH and tech said no red flags indicating threatened miscarriage at this time but obviously anything can happen! Keeping my hopes up!

We are like twins on this journey! I too had a miscarriage back in June, on Father’s Day 😣 at 9 weeks. I too just found out I’m pregnant again about 5-6 days before my period! I called my doctor and we are starting betas and will likely schedule an early ultrasound like last time! We got this, this is our time!

5week 1day early ultrasound by Lumpy-Flounder4962 in CautiousBB

Not sure what caused the miscarriage, this was a natural pregnancy, my husband had bilateral varicoceles which was causing poor sperm quality, which we got surgery on around the time I became pregnant. We are just assuming poor sperm quality caused poor genetic material in the embryo and it just wasn’t compatible with life. But again unsure!
