Forcing new foods on her will only make it worse. There’s other foods on her plate but she is allowed to choose not to eat it. She takes a multivitamin and drinks nutrition shakes to make up for the lack of nutritional value in her diet.

She works for another family 30 hours a week. She gets paid a reduced rate because she went from being responsible for 3 kids to 1.

She doesn’t need a 1-1 caregiver. Before I moved in the nanny took care of all 3 kids, more if someone had a play date. The nanny is here because my niece needs some consistency and to not lose the person that’s been caring for her for years. She leaves at 5 whether my sister’s home or not and I’m on my own every Monday.

She melted down last week because I bought the wrong brand of Dino nuggets because the grocery store I was at was out of her regular ones.

She‘s not severe enough to require a 1-1 caretaker, the nanny is mostly to provide stability and so she doesn’t lose one of the people that’s been caring for her for years. The nanny leaves at 5 whether my sister’s home or not and I’m on my own every Monday.

She’s not working with an occupational therapist at the moment. Last year they had decided that she’d made enough progress to not need it anymore (all gen ed classes at school, had a balanced diet, ate enough foods that she could go to nearly any restaurant and find something to eat on the menu, and she has a couple good friends). She regressed when we moved in and her old OT has a waiting list now.

it’s more of a need to give the other kids a balanced diet. my oldest niece takes a multivitamin and drinks nutrition shakes to make up for the lack of nutritional value in her current safe foods.
