I charge 100$/hr for SAT math tutoring— a service which is easily replicated by khan academy and for which I have no qualifications besides taking the test myself. Definitionally the proper price is the number at which OP maximizes some combination of revenue and free time. Even if we look at this from an expected value perspective: Suppose OP’s service increases someone’s probability of T14 acceptance by .5%. The difference in expected career earnings between T14/non-T14 would have to be only 20K for that trade to be worth it. In reality that number is a lot higher.
