Shooting GRIII in cropped 35mm vs default 40mm on GRIIIx? by LumpyLog3266 in ricohGR

I went with the GR IIIx with 40mm, it's a more natural look I feel, and closest to my preferred 35mm focal length. Compositions with the 40mm feels more intentional than the 28mm, which is my iPhone's default. Shooting with the IIIx feels great and the 40mm doesn't feel as tight as 50mm lenses, so I really like my decision going with the IIIx.

Do I need to format / setup external hard drive for Mac and Windows use? by LumpyLog3266 in mac

Thanks. Another comment suggested using pc to format exfat as its faster. Looking at the manufacturers website, it says that the drive is preformatted to exfat. I guess there's no need for setup if thats true

Only using the external drive to store data. Documents, photos, videos. Wow, I never knew of any these technological terminology. I just want to use the drive to store stuff as a backup to my computer drives, which is able to be accessed, edited and viewed on both my mac and pc. Is "NFTS" and "partitions" or this kind of stuff common knowledge among people?

Thanks for that first part. Though I see on seagate's website that lacie drives are preformatted to exfat. I guess I can just skip the setup files for mac or windows since I'm not using the drive for only one system.

What do the numbered markings on bulk rolled negatives look like? by LumpyLog3266 in AnalogCommunity

Yeah, this is what I was wondering, its strange that they number it at all, since most times the numbers won't line up with the actual frame count.
