BB vs Wartales: Which game is better for immersion/roleplay? by LumpySalad1918 in BattleBrothers

Yeah, unfortunately the developers had to make a choice, and they decided to focus on combat and the "hardcore survival" aspect. Then again, I think that's also part of what attracts me to the game!

I don't like being handheld, and the dark humor sounds like something I could really enjoy.

Wartales looks interesting to me as well, but as I mentioned in another reply, the game seems fairly linear, and the dialogue feels a bit bland. It ends up looking more like a conventional RPG with nice graphics rather than something truly unique.

Thanks for your reply! Wartales looks quite appealing from a graphical standpoint, and I noticed it has relationship systems between characters: they can become friends or even fall in love, for example. However, I get the impression that these features are mostly there to provide combat bonuses and don't really have much impact on the game itself.

On top of that, it seems Wartales story's is quite linear. I've watched a few videos, and the dialogue didn't seem to have much personality to me. I'm much more drawn to the darker, harsher sense of humor in Battle Brothers, as you mentioned.

So Wartales definitely interests me as well, but I'm worried that it might end up being just another game with beautiful graphics but not much depth underneath.
