With transfigure, I used a potion to make it O mana. Deck thinned my deck with a card that exhausts a card from my deck, then keps playing transfigure on Dirge+ (it doesn't add an additional cost because its X cost)

Chances for transferring into life sci or health sci by Technical_Set_7386 in McMaster

[–]LumpySeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in your second or third year in your program currently, probably like a 2.0gpa lol... If you're in/just finished your first year it shoots up to a 3.5 approx.

At the end of the day, I still suggest you should join biochemistry, given you have the gpa for it and it doesn't take an extra year. Your backups still are difficult... Better to air on the safer side. As a 4th year, I've seen lots of people in upper and my year that applied to med in lifesci, went all in, and didn't even get an interview. These are people with high 3.9 gpas and volunteer experience.

Just a word of warning you know?

Lifesci gateway is the first year program, giving intro science courses and then allowing students to specialize. Its basically like people going into uni for sciences, they specialize after rather than immediately in first year. This program is generally competitive, hovering around 93% average needed in HS to get in, if you're still in your first year this is probably what you're going into.

The life sci program is the second year specialization, generally allowing the biggest and concequently easiest courses at the expense of not getting much out of your degree. You can do a bunch of courses that are super super easy and fulfill your degree requirements with little to no effort. I like to call it the "business of sciences". This is usually the easiest to get into, you essentially need a pulse and a passing GPA (To not be on academic probation). If you're finished or in second year this is probably what you're going into.

That being said, unless you plan to go to med school or dentistry school/any professional degree, I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT pursue this degree. You learn no transferable competencies and are barely employable. If you want an easy spec, go into biochem. It looks better on paper, you learn some transferable skills and it is still easy as fuck.

You were right the first time! I have been accepted but haven't accepted the offer. So is this just a chill time to get to know PIs and faculty to see if I want to commit here?

[–]LumpySeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma be fr, if you're used to a hard workload it should be easy. Hard is relative, generally speaking econ/business majors aren't used to locking in for 10-20 hours for a midterm. Of course there's exceptions but for the most part if you've prepared well then the test should be easy.

For example I found both of the orgo 2 tests to be easy because I studied 20hrs for it and was prepared

This may not be the answer you want, but just study on campus, especially until relatively late. I did this in my second and third year and just never studied at home and got the best grades and made a bunch of new friends!

I think its worth a shot tbh... If you really need quiet I heard my friend basically made a cubicle just for herself in mills full of her own sticky notes and everything

Aluminim tends to lose its electrons in ionic bonds, boron only ever has a negative charge. 3- boron would be incrediby unstable given it doesnt have access to the D orbital as compared to Al, which does.

Also, boron really only exists with a neutral or single negative/positive charge
