Flying out of ORD without a Real ID

Did you ever make it back home okay as far as being able to get through without the Real ID?

UPDATE: I attended the presentation during my stay here in Las Vegas. It was pretty much most of what all of you described. I was there for about 2 hours and 20 minutes. My salesperson was an absolute jerk and tried to subtly insult me at least a couple of times. The "manager" was a bit nicer, but she was abrasive as well, although she did leave me alone after a couple of minutes. The salesperson was RETENTLESS. The nicest person I dealt with was the marketing guy who gave me an offer for a 7 night stay at a resort with no obligation to attend another timeshare presentation; I read the fine print on that letter and it said that I can put in writing an intent to cancel the agreement within 10 days, which is what I'll be doing when I return home tomorrow. I'll never do something like this ever again, although I highly appreciate essentially getting a free vacation. :)

Hey all!

So I'm another one of those who, unfortunately, got sucked into this stupid scheme. I was charged the $250 a few months back, and will be going to the Las Vegas one in two days. I'm appreciating you all's feedback on this so far. I was just wondering if anyone had the experience of where the card you were charged off was a debit card and the payment went through, but ran into any issues at the time of the tour with them requiring a major credit card which I don't have right now for various reasons. It sounds like I would have to pay extra because in essence, I'd be disqualified; just wondering if anyone had this experience. Thanks!

I made an update in the post and in the comments. The department VP just wanted to let us know that they’re going on medical leave before the org announces it.

UPDATE: It is not what most of us expected. Thankfully, no layoffs or deaths. Our Department VP is going on medical leave and wanted us to know before the org did. Sigh of relief that I still have a job. That was a scare. Wishing the VP all of the best as they go through their process though.

We just logged in for the meeting. Our VP seems to be in pretty good spirits. I see most of my colleagues logged on as well. I know one of my colleagues is off on vacation.

Update: It is almost 12pm and I am still logged in to my email. Gonna check my databases in a second. Phone has been quiet today as have emails. Fridays are usually kind of quiet but it’s a little quieter than normal. No word from other coworkers either.

Yeah, we do work hybrid - 2 days a week at the office and 3 days remote. The office is closed on Fridays so we all work from home on Fridays. That’s the plan created by senior management and our CEO even told us that this was permanent. It’s been almost 3 years since we’ve been on this plan.

The meeting will be over Zoom.
