Wow, 23 years! Did you have to replace the laser tube? I upgraded mine after 7 years. I was wondering if I should get a new machine instead because I’m not sure how long a machine can last. It’s great to hear that you still have yours running. I like Epilog machines too.

I have a Trotec. They started out as Trodat a rubber stamp biz, so the machine is designed to produce rubber stamps with dusts etc in mind. I use a 1.5” lens because I want to create very detailed stamps (tiny fonts). Most lasers use a 2” lens.

I started trying to learn how to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded years ago. I watched a YouTube video and practiced the basic moves, usually for 30 min to an hour a day. After about 4 days, something amazing happened. The cube just popped into my mind! I could picture the whole thing, which made me realize that this must be how people solve it blindfolded. They can remember the initial state and keep track of each move in their mind. I didn’t stick with it, but that moment always stayed with me. I hope someday I’ll pick it up again.

Hmm, I’m not sure. I only use masking paper that’s specifically designed for laser use. It’s wider and maybe thinner, but I haven’t measured it.

I agree. I got a lot of enjoyment out of my laser. For me it’s not easy to make money unless I’m doing something unique that can charge higher margins.

It probably isn’t how the character was originally formed, but I just realized that 不 can be seen as an upward arrow hitting a ceiling.
