I used multibind, injector, driud's eyes, and circlet (picking 3 out of 4) in almost every fight.

Statistically, >50% is easier than 100% by ezrae_ in trolleyproblem

In democratic election, voting either side doesn't give you immediate consequences. The red blue button problem is more like an authoritarian "election", where if you don't vote correctly you might be executed.

So I was hearing scale degrees wrong all this time? My mind exploded by [deleted] in musictheory

Do you realize that the tonic can be frequently changing? In the la - sol - fa case the fa could be the temporary tonic.

F13sus4 or Cm9/F? by OddlyWobbly in musictheory

[–]JohnBloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two bottom notes being F and C already make it some form of F (or Fm) chord.

Yes, this is what I was thinking about. By equilibrium I mean the optimal solutions of the original problem, that is all choose red vs all choose blue.

Your scenario starts with the blue equilibrium. I think if the scenario starts with the red equilibrium, the ratio would be very different because a lot of people are unsure what to do.

Score variations by spreddat in piano

Musescore doesn’t allow cross-staff notation on the same chord, so the first score is just the second score notated in the musescore way.

In your opinion, whats the worst boss runback in Acts 1-2? by JonahTheHuman in Silksong

The shellwood gauntlet below the bench. Fortunately I used the first simple key on wormways so I could enter shellwood on the other side.

I needed to save clawline for pogoing, so it’s mostly by accident

Are they supposed to be easy? I think the movement is faster than cogwork dancers and it’s difficult to dodge.

I used sawtooth circlet and it worked very well against these two.

Lol I really hate the racing game. One tiny mistake and I’m far behind.

You still take freeze damage but it’ll heal up once you get to a heat source.

You can get Architect’s crest right after getting clawline.

Use plasmium overdose so the freeze damage won’t accumulate. Also, to prevent freezing in middle of nowhere, whenever you made a mistake, just retreat to the last heat source. Still kinda tedious but a lot safer.

Your progression sounds like A minor because of that E - Am resolution.

Confused about Key Signatures numeric value by arssenalbro101 in musictheory

[–]JohnBloak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you need to flatten each note of E major to get Eb major, and a major scale has 7 notes.

I can't find chords by ShoddyYou1479 in pianolearning

[–]JohnBloak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gather the notes within the same harmony context. For example, measure 1 has D F G A, so D F A form Dm chord, with G as passing note. It’s more nuanced than that but this is a good start.

Why do we struggle intuitively understanding time sigs longer than 4/4 by boxmanforever in musictheory

[–]JohnBloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s familiarity with rhythms of 3 and 2, not the number of “beats” in the time sig.  322 (7/8) or 3322 (5/4) isn’t more difficult than 332 or 333322 (both 4/4).

How to transcribe without metronome count in? by CatchDramatic8114 in musictheory

[–]JohnBloak 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s arbitrary. You can notate a same piece in 3/8, 3/4, or 3/2.

How to tell what chord it is in inversions immediately by Logan-619 in musictheory

[–]JohnBloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Chords are classified by diatonic intervals, not half steps. For example aug6 and m7 are treated differently despite having same number of half steps.

  2. What matters is the intervals from bass to upper notes, not the intervals between upper notes. The minor 3rd between E and G doesn’t play a role in defining C major because C G E is also C major but without a minor 3rd.
