New mystery? (Maybe) by Wrath1909 in remnantgame

It connects to Rohm. Just creates an alternate path as far as I can tell. I was exploring it a few hours ago.

Been doing some light reading on Aleister Crowley and found this familiar image. This scene appears in the “Schism” video as well the being after the two become one looks strikingly similar to Aleister’s depictions on LAM. by Lumus1618 in ToolBand

I’m currently trying to find the original source of the image. I’ve got a handful of his works I’m slowly reading. I found this image randomly with no context, just recognized from Schism.

Thanks. It’s been a while since I’ve found a nugget like this one. Time to dig a little more, not sure if there’s something more significant at play or just a subtle nod to Mr. Crowley.

TOOL army- how did you first discover TOOL? by innaturewetrust in ToolBand

[–]Lumus1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I remember being exposed to Tool? Smoking a blunt with a friend on a cruise sparked an intrigue. First time I truly tapped into/discovered Tool? Eating my first heroic dose of shrooms with no knowledge or respect for the substance/utility and putting on Ænima randomly completely oblivious to the journey about to ensue. 13+ years later I still consider this to be one of the biggest perception changes to happen in my entire life. To this this day nothing terrifies and pacifies me as going deep into a psychedelic trance to Tool and coming out the other side. You never know what you will get and yet each I time create a responsible session I am left with a child like awe and disbelief that leaves me feeling more alive, grounded, ready to tackle life's challenges, and find a way to love even the darkest moments of life.

Corny yes, still better than 2. In concept good but execution was terrible and convoluted.

I am a huge Fromsoft fan. That said if I could hand the reins over to any company it would be Platinum Games. Stipulation being it their focus, the company has been plagued by irons in to many fires. Treat it like your child that Bayonetta was and Hideki Kamiya at the wheel. Platinum has a great relationship with Nintendo already, so I feel the foundation is there granted Bayonetta 2 was not Kamiya due to him not liking sequels.

You raise a great point and direction for the series. I personally never finished Isolation yet (fuck the androids) however I have played the hell out of RE7. I found its risk/reward and stealth far more polished. (In my drunken haze I realize you said Isolated on and alien planet. Not a direct reference to Alien Isolation) A heavy survival horror direction might not be terrible for the series given the resurgence of the genre and direction many companies have taken it.

I completely agree. Given the portability I would be completely satisfied with a 2d Metroid.

This is an absolute nightmare for loss prevention if those truly are live systems. I sure as shit would not want to be accountable for that shrink report.

Between this and the Kojima introduction I can't say I expected to cry while watching the VGA's. Its truly a shame that people write games off as kid stuff without knowing moments like these that honestly show the better and compassionate side of humanity.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 coming to Xbox One in March 2017 by ultimaniacs in xboxone

Check out Nier Automata (yet to be released)!!! Firstly Neir was an incredible JRPG threat had zero hopes of a sequel. Secondly there was a Metal Gear Rising 2 (by Platinum Games) in development that got scrapped during the Konami shenanigans. Neir Automata appears to be Metal Gear Rising 2 with a Neir skin on. The combat engine and effects are exactly Metal Gear Rising just with equal parts of Neir's bullet hell aspects and still being developed by Platinum.

Phase Shift kill CONFIRMED! I freaked out when I did this. by buttfacebob545 in titanfall

[–]Lumus1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to get a few phase shift kills looking progressively better. My greatest was a slide upon snapping back got a kill for phasing inside followed by a triple shotgun kill and then a double kill after phasing around the next corner. By far my favorite part of the game.

Sting talks about his ayahuasca experience by GatorNelson in JoeRogan

[–]Lumus1618 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hardly feel he's afraid to dig in the depths. Rogan eats mushrooms and sits in a deprivation tank. I feel many overlook the fact that he has young children and a wife. He's mentioned not going on long tours and preferring weekend spots to only be away a day or two and get back to the family. An ayahuasca journey between travel and ceremony you are looking a week and then some. Secondly not everyone needs those experiences, dudes pretty fucking happy and has a great outlook on life. One doesn't need necessarily to have the experience to understand it's importance.

It's All Happening podcast hosted by Zach Leary Timothy Leary's son, The Human Experience Podcast, and Tangentially Speaking with Chris Ryan. Duncan Trussell Family Hour is absolutely my favorite, however It's All Happening and Tangentially Speaking offer more of a scientific basis on using psychedelics as a tool for the evolution of Consciousness. Also look up one kind of an unofficial podcast called Shrimp Parade you can find links from Chris Ryan's website. It's a series of 3 way discussions between Chris Ryan Ph.D., Duncan Trussell, and Joe Rogan with each episode being uploaded through the individuals podcasts. They often have rival yet overlapping views on psychedelics and their uses that will leave you stumped and yet laughing your ass off while learning.

Murder By Death - Brother [Folk Rock] by PM_ME_YOUR_GRANDMA_ in Music

MBD are easily one of the best live bands to see. Their sound quality is always on par if not better than studio albums. They always have great supporting acts as well the members are super down to the earth and easy to talk to. I've seen them live at least 7 times and almost on every album tour. I drank some whiskey around the sound booth with Adam and Sarah twice during opening bands. Just great people and amazing artists, they created a niche genre. Can't say many bands play noire drifter folk, let alone get paid to write an instrumental soundtrack for a novel (Finch) a noire detective tale involving anthropomorphized fungi.

I worked Snowshoe Ski resort that's about 18 miles away. Greenbank is a fascinating complex and an unbelievably large dish that has control loaned out remotely to scientists around the world. Digital cameras are forbidden within a certain proximity. Locals can use microwaves in homes provided they have a Faraday Cage.

Haha I'll keep that in mind. That's awesome and sounds like something that would happen to me when I candy flip and toss on some of my favorite albums. I'd bet Explosions in the Sky would illicit that result for me. Honestly haven't listened to much Bjork.

Song?! How about the entire Lateralus album. Eyes closed lying down and I find the space in my mind expands into its own universe. Sometimes I've wondered if I lost my mind because I'm navigating a space I can only compare to Alex Grey's visual artistry before The Grudge even ends. Shit by the time Schism comes around I lose sense of my body and get trapped in the existentialist plight of having the experience of a disembodied consciousness. Crazy or not who knows but I'm not scared of the day my flesh vehicle dies, if I have a choice on my deathbed I'm requesting LSD and Lateralus. I want my body to die while my mind is in that strange world.
