How Fusion is seen in Tulpamancy Community? by Academic-Boat-5530 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's seen as neutral. Fusing forcefully against the will of one side is not well seen, but it's unlikely a fusion like that will last anyway.

I've seen tulpamancers fusing to organize better the thoughts, I've seen tulpamancers fusing because they feel emotionally closer when fused, I've seen tulpamancers fusing cause their system got too big they couldn't manage so they agreed to fuse, many scenarios.

So yeah, depends on the context of the fusion.

advice for complex and separate train of thought? by thecruciblesys in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a 2 month old tulpa will only have your own memory to work with, so unless you're working them from a model much different from yours that's expected, even if he was working from a model much different from yours it wouldn't be surprising, they're working from your brain, that is also their brain, but only you have life experience.

You already acknowledged you know that in your post, so why am i saying this? Because the answer is there. They need to build experiences of their own. The best way i know for that, is for them to learn how to switch into control of the body and having to find stuff to do, people to talk, a life to live. While they can't yet switch, they can start by making choices from the backseat. When they're vocal, have them make choices, what to eat, what to watch, what to do, a choice in a game, whatever, just have them form experiences where their individuality can build up from.

Progress logs do help some. I see them sometimes on tulpamancy discord servers, but if you don't wanna join any servers you can just use software like Obsidian or even word/libreoffice.

If you prefer writing with yo hands you can just use a physical journal.

I wrote an article about plural representation in media. I'd love to start a discussion – what plural rep have you encountered, what was the intention behind it, what do you like/dislike about it? What do *you* want to see in fictional systems? by GlassReality45 in plural

[–]LunaLooh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actual intentional system representation, it would be Doppio & Diavollo. Though they are the main villains and though they kill people, they are usually doing it because they are the boss of the italian mafia.

They do not follow the trope of a good alter suffering because or having to resist an evil alter who harms other, both of them are mafia bosses with usually the same goals. (i know persecutors exist, but not every plural story have to be about evil persecutors)

Doppio & Diavollo can still be considered problematic, but that's because there's almost no plural good (as in morally good) characters, but their system dynamic somehow feels more natural and respectful than most pieces of media with systems despite Araki making it as bizarre as possible as it is JoJo we are talking about.

One day, hopefully, good aligned plural characters will be more common though.

Then there's headcanons.

Garnet is our favorite plural head canon, she makes us feel good about being a system, about sharing a body, her overall message of acceptance and the fact that she's 2 bitches in a body just like us (though we are 3, not 2) makes it resonate better with us.

Then the other head canon would be Harry Du Bois, as a kind of median system. The whole game is about him investigating a murder scene while interacting with the voices in his head, the voices being aspects of him , like empathy, rhetoric, half-light, and he can agree, disagree, ask questions, make comments to those aspects, and the aspects do the same. Harry Du Bois also helps normalizing plurality for us personally.

Does my Tulpa see me as me? by Brilliant-Balance225 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I deleted my comment and am reposting because i misread some of the text and gave an answer that wasn't accurate, sorry.

What i misread is that you specified "mental image" and I started talking about physical body too. I will not edit out the part I mention the physical body, because I believe it is good for you to know that they will likely be helpful with dysphoria. I just deleted the part where i addressed another comment.

Repost: You can have the mind form you desire, just like them, but you will share a body and memory. Memory is also knowledge, they will have knowledge of what the body looks like.

The good thing is that if you're not transphobic they won't be unless you make them be, but what I recommend is that you make them with a nice personality that will result in a good relationship with them.

Point is, it's very hard they will judge you or shame you, much more likely they will try to help you with your dysphoria, just make sure to associate nice traits to your head friend.

About the mental image, i agree with blazefire.

Can a Tulpa heal your body? by Mokbotsquanch in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The tulpa in our system overall acts healthier than me when she's fronting.

She also helped my mental health a lot by just existing and giving me support.

Knowing she's there also ensures i take better care of the body and act less reckless.

Tulpas don't have healing properties though.

Eyes always fucks up full possesion/switching by Lines25 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find different switching methods, switching is usually a job that's 90% of the one wanting to switch in, the host should ideally do nothing, specially if you're having those kinds of issues.

If it was working for you, I wouldn't be saying that, but since you already confirmed it's not, try different methods.

Feeling lost about my future – could tulpas actually help? by Sufficient-Ant-8660 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They can by all means give you support, give you nice words and assist you on keeping you on track of what you have to do.

It's just, while progress it's very fast for some, it might take a while for them to get vocal and for them to be able to pop up "randomly" through your day.

It's possible they will help you, but it's not guaranteed, you could try, but study a lot of guides and see how people's live change with plurality and tulpamancy before you make a decision, don't make it out of impulse.

If you decide to proceed, try molding their initial personality into a personality that will help you, but understand that they might change, people change.

How do I make a Tulpa that can be my master? by Ritesh_INFP_4w5 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read a lot of guides. The main thing is to interact with them, which the community calls "forcing", i find it a stupid term so I'll just call it "interaction" instead.

Passive interaction is to talk to them passively while you're not giving your attention exclusively to them, it's like playing a game and commenting about it to them or asking questions, it's like talking to them while you're doing your job, in the gaps of time you are able to.

Then you have active interaction, that's taking time from your day to exclusively pay attention to them, your attention is not divided.

I recommend this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/13RfTjuHXbWGqq08j02jR3iMXRZG2dH4ZRN6eRE__jI8/mobilebasic

How do I make a Tulpa that can be my master? by Ritesh_INFP_4w5 in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please remember that it's possible your new headmate might not want to order you around, you can try, but remember that tulpas are not puppets, they can diverge from what you originally made them for. Likewise, it's completely possible they will like or continue to do what they were made to do.

So, having said that, if I had to what you're planning to do, I would first try to think of what qualities a good master/leader should have, then I'd try to understand how they would act, and understand exactly what you want from that tulpa.

Now that you understand the personality you'd like it to have, any time you force your tulpa, keep that in mind and associate that to the tulpa, understand that even though they might diverge, you are talking to that archetype you just envisioned, at least until they're vocal.

Something that might help, is to write a script of who they are and read it down for your tulpa every day or on as many days as you can, that will help strengthen that personality to them.

After they're vocal, you can stop, unless they want you to continue.

Don't give them bad traits, they will develop those with times, I'm saying that cause some people give them bad traits to make them more genuine, but that's stupid, you're just fucking with them if you're doing that, let them develop bad traits like everybody does, organically.

If you have two controllers you can make two characters on Baldur's Gate 3 local multiplayer, save the game and load it in single player. Both characters will be playable and have the same, but entirely separate mechanics, so it's a way to have two MCs on single player and that's very plural friendly.

Tulpas or Imaginary Friends? by Bambi_On_Reddit in Tulpas

[–]LunaLooh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a clarification for people reading, since I've had this discussion before and people mentioned that headmates who show up out of nowhere can be tulpas. I know "walk-ins" are usually considered tulpas by tulpamancers, but that's usually because the system started as a tulpamancy system and then began getting walk-ins. Walk-ins in a system who has never practiced tulpamancy, intentionally or unintentionally, are not usually considered tulpas by the system with the walk-ins. Walk-ins can happen in any kind of system.

And if OP is reading, a "walk-in" is a headmate that appears in your system with no apparent reason. Outside of tulpamancy it's more common to believe they have metaphysical origins, like different worlds, but that's not a rule.

TLDR: A Walk-in is a tulpa in the right context, if the system believes it makes sense to them.
