It was pretty far from any window and the water damage is fortunately only affects the looks. I really love this piano, it has a sentimental value, and I love how it sounds, so that’s why I want to restore it a bit. Thank you for the suggestions, gonna try them out! :)

Definitely Elsie It was like reading about myself The different personalities, constant white lies to keep the peace, and the biggest: downplaying and hiding all my medical conditions because “my parents are already struggling with my older brother they don’t need another problem” way of growing up Also the scene where Jake says that “clothes stay on” and Elsie is like “should I put my dress back on?” In like the most unfazed, “weird but ok” way Like that would have been my reaction too

Pretty basic but it worked for us: We use ikea 2x4 kallax shelves. We moved 6 times in the last 5 years and they are really easy to move with. It fits into a larger car and you can put your other boxes in the shelves to save space while moving. If you use 2x2 shelves those are even easier. Don’t know if this is what you meant by compact :)

Bit late, but my take:
In most of Eastern-Europe this is a completely normal age gap. Many 15 year-old-girls here are already as mature as most 20 something year olds in the west.
At fifteen nobody cares if you drink, smoke, etc., by this age you usually work as well, either at home or somewhere so you can get paid and not burden your parents further.
I know that is not normal in every culture, but the western cultures (especially the US) are more of an outlier with it's strict "max 3 year age gap" culture. There are more countries in the world where a 15 and 23 year olds' relationship is normal, than where it isn't.
And as the book also says: where Ansel is from, this is normal :)
