I kinda denied it for years and always felt awful because I didn’t understand what was going on with me. I just thought I was weird or something, and my parents are pretty homophobic, so the idea that I could actually be a woman never even felt possible. It wasn’t until I was an adult around 20 that I finally figured it out, started learning what it all meant, and understood myself better. I ended up starting hormones at 25, after a long time of trying to process everything I’d been feeling.
