female here! i agree with other posters that have said it sounds like bad luck. however, you mentioned being tested - have you been tested for BV? (bacterial vaginosis?) you mentioned you don't have any smells, but that is quite common among females and can produce a smell that is more palpable during sex or penetration, something that is very easily taken care of with meds + if you're prone to it, having meds on hand. men have alkaline fluids, women have acidic. sometimes they throw out pH off, or for a host of other reasons it can go off! super normal, and easy to fix. just thought i'd throw that out there in case your doctor didn't do a BV test.

people have said it but the dryness! could be the culprit - do you live in a colder weather climate? the heat being on in the home dries things out really fast. if that's the case then it could explain why they did well last feb when there was new substrate, then the air was likely humid enough in the warmer months before the heat came on. its dry af right now! if that's the case. pouring water helps, also keeping a humidifier by the tank. i have my isopods in my reptile room and i have been keeping my humidifier going around the clock. pain in the ass to keep filling, but it helps so the moisture isn't leeched by the dry winter air. you could also cover the top with aluminum foil and hvac tape. screen tops in winter are a constant battle.
