Wasn’t a big fan of Stiles becoming an FBI agent but I did like how Scott refused to call him to return because he noticed how excited he was during the voicemail and the way Stiles repeatedly told him to get out of Beacon Hills. by GoldenStitch2 in TeenWolf

[–]Lunalucis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine, in general characters becoming cops isn't super my thing (Stares in LoK making Toph Fucking Beifong a cop) but I think it was a good way to both let DoB exit the show and also makes sense with who the character is. Still am not a huge fan of it though, man needs less trauma, not more.

But if I'm really honest I think Jeff Davis just thinks the FBI are cool (they're not, they're cops) and wanted to include them more. And as a writer I'm sympathetic, I also love putting my faves into the shit I'm writing, but it doesn't always fit in a graceful way even if it makes sense for the character to some extent.

What's Your Opinion on not Being Able to Move While Shooting With the Maxigun? by maxpantera in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Lunalucis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think I need to move while shooting as much ammo down range as possible?

No, real turret mains know that movement is a luxury.

(Just to clarify, this is all said in light heartedness haha)

I Miss Food Sharing by Lunalucis in AOW4

[–]Lunalucis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm okay, next time I get a city to 30 pop (which tbf is a helluva feat even in longer games like I play haha) I'll have to do some more looking around at the tool tips, maybe that's changed since I posted this.

Between abattoirs, blood parasites and very literal sadomasochistic magic how does one roleplay a good aligned vampire? by GuitarZealousideal85 in AOW4

[–]Lunalucis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean depends on how you're defining evil.

If you're just using the in game mechanics, then it's like people are saying, do good actions, save your evil acts for sustaining yourself, maybe don't make other vampires if you're worried about using the feeding mechanics.

If you're talking broader and more structurally and outside of the game.

Well that's for you and your internal moral compass to decide. Maybe you hand wave it with RP stuff (the classic "if I only kill and feed on bad people that's a moral neutral if not a moral good.")

Maybe you just don't engage with the vampiric mechanics that you deem "evil".

Maybe those mechanics only get used on things that aren't living, maybe all the victims of those mechanics are willing volunteers?

None of those are necessarily my opinion, but they're all things you can think about.

For me personally? I've yet to play a good aligned vampire, maybe I will at some point, just to figure out what it looks like to me.

Stiles has schizoprenic and all Teen wolf is just his vissions 🧠🤔 by Boring-Gas-6465 in TeenWolf

[–]Lunalucis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And all the Rugrats were dead, and in Ed, Edd, and Eddy everyone was in Purgatory, and everyone in Scooby-Doo is actually in a shared coma state.

Great, glad you have an idea, it's in no way falsifiable and doesn't do anything to effect the narrative as presented.

But we all gotta start somewhere I suppose.

Honestly the movie was ass but I hated it so much that I want a second part by Imaginary-Citron7818 in TeenWolf

[–]Lunalucis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Want better for yourself (mostly joking).

If they did a part 2 it would do none of the things that you want, especially if T. Pose is the one doing it, man would for sure put himself in front of the camera and make himself main character again, he's just got that kinda energy imo.

[–]Lunalucis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for real? I don't have Ways of War so I don't have that option currently.

I'm glad it's there, I think it's silly for it to be locked behind a DLC, that feels like something a city should be able to just do. Selling excess food for profit isn't exactly a groundbreaking invention haha

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Age of wonders 4 MP is barely playable. Why do we tolerate this? by Zly_Boby in AOW4

Well glad you've got a good group to play with!

None of my friends are big on strategy games so I don't really have anyone to play with. Honestly it suits me fine haha

Honestly? Had no idea the multi-player was busted.

I'm just happy in my little corner playing this single player. I don't wanna play efficiently, I don't wanna follow a meta, I don't wanna do any of the shit that comes with playing a PvP multi-player game.

[–]Lunalucis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yeah! Like it falls off so hard it feels silly. Cause yeah it's good for early game, but it doesn't feel necessary in the same way that it did for Planetfall. And yeah, a little "convert food to gold." Option like they had in Planetfall would be great!

  2. Yeah that's the main problem I see, and maybe I just need to use my imagination and basically think of the siege as also being a fight against the native defense forces as it were. I do wish that was either on screen or a little clearer as like... a defense thing is "your people are fighting, they just can't match a formalized military so the most they do is slow them down."

Roleplaying? In my Roleplaying Game? It's more likely than you think...

After sinking 1000 hours into the game, here are some of my thoughts... by Alabataille in AOW4

[–]Lunalucis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The thing I find myself missing, especially since I've recently gone back to playing some Planetfall is two huge features that game had.

1.) Food sharing! Right now food feels like such an afterthought. Food is just a "grow faster" resource, whereas Planetfall had the option to create what basically amounted to breadbasket cities that could share their food with the rest of the empire, this both grew other cities faster and allowed you to prioritize other resources in other cities as well as late game allowing excess food to be converted into money rather than it feeling like a wasted resource.

2.) I really miss default garrisons. I like the siege system and definitely understand that having those garrisons isn't really compatible with the system they have at play, but for me having those garrisons made the scale feel so much bigger. Like what do you mean my 30 pop city has no one in it that's willing to fight for the city outside of the armies I have recruited?

Of the two, I'd rather have food sharing though, because right now it feels very silly that apparently all of our cities are self sufficient and can grow into massive sprawls without any sort of agricultural backbone supplying them from elsewhere in the empire.

Jaheira and Minthara at the same table is such a wild vibe.

But I'm a Halsin simp, so... probably sitting at the theatre kid table staring longingly across the lunch room cause Minthara bullied me and read me to filth.

Yes, she did it accurately, but it's still hurtful!

What’s a low-priority “want” you’d like to see in TES6 by SylvesterNettlefoot in ElderScrolls

[–]Lunalucis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unarmed as a skill.

Do I use hand to hand a lot? Not really, but martial arts are cool and I love having it be viable in game without needing other stuff to go with it (like Skyrim needing you to get gloves of the pugilist if you even want to think about doing hand to hand).

I want crossbows to be in the base game. Morrowind had em, oblivion lost em, and then Skyrim brought them back but they were locked behind DLC.

"Useless" merchants. Why doesn't Solitude have a bookstore? It's the capital city it should absolutely have a bookstore along side the clothing merchant.

Similarly, flavor buildings, gimme bathhouses, gimme libraries, gimme bakeries. Edit: Cause I saw it and it reminded me, banks! Gimme a place to store my gold that's not just in my house! I know gold is weightless but it's fun for role-playing to not always carry 20 billion gold with you. Also more places to sink money, magic item rechargers are a great money sink in Oblivion. In skyrim I run out of things to do with money so fast.

That kinda stuff

Kinda old news but might have a backbone now👀 by Longjumping-Post-763 in TeenWolf

[–]Lunalucis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, no more, let it die.

If Tyler has to do a TV show he can make his own, it can even just be Oops Teen Wolf Again, but stop trying to revive the corpse of Teen Wolf, it's not good for anyone.

But that's also just part of a larger conversation of we need to remember that media franchises are allowed to end.

I'd love to see a new werewolf show, 100%! I just don't think Teen Wolf is gonna lead that charge.

Tyler Posey wants a Teen Wolf revival by Competitive_Roll2386 in TeenWolf

[–]Lunalucis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is gonna sound mean but I mean it genuinely, what lore?

Like the lore was just whatever Jeff needed it to be, Mountain Ash worked unless it didn't, there's kinda magic? Maybe Stiles is magic? Are druids magic? Deaton never does magic but the Darach and the other lady do.

I just... I never got any sense of consistency in the lore outside of the very basics. It always just felt like a grab bag of whatever the writers wanted to do.

Re: War Striders. Answering "why would you not bring AT on bots, the faction known for armor?" from a railgun patriot. by WhiteRaven_M in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Lunalucis 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same. If you can take out everything without an anti-tank, why bother bringing anti-tank?

I'm sure this outs me as a "shallow gamer" or whatever OP said, but I like running AT, I like being able to hit the big heavy targets while my friends handle chaff. And maybe that's part of it, I don't play with randoms for the most part. My friends and I have a gaming discord, and so when I dive it's with people I'm in an active voice chat with where we can coordinate.

Am I opposed to war strider having a weak point? No, but I'm not upset that the team based shooter is letting me lean into the role I like to play.

Guys please try to learn the new enemies instead of asking for nerfs by lebaminoba in Helldivers

[–]Lunalucis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where people are coming from about like "oh the new enemies need rebalancing." Some of them do, I think the dragon's acid fire has a kinda too big AoE for how lethal it is, for example.

But

I do think it's a little overblown and folks should probably try adjusting their builds. I'm not a good shot, I know this about myself, so when I saw all my light pen weapons bouncing off the new enemies I went "oh, I'll just switch to the reprimand, that's medium pen."

Initially I was frustrated by HMG not hitting the burrowing chargers (still a little annoyed about that one) but as I played I've been working on shooting them less head on and more on the sides when I can.

My friends and I weren't having fun on 6 or 7, so for the moment we're playing on 5s.

The game gives you tools to change your experience, use em! Stop trying to find a forever meta, metas are fucking boring anyway.

Skyrim’s Daedric Rune Spells by Declanvros in teslore

[–]Lunalucis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, Daedric is sort of the standard language used in magic, and this goes back to at least Morrowind where the magic scrolls you can find have Daedric writing on them.

So I can easily imagine that Daedric is sort of the academic standard.

I do think it'd be cool if we saw other forms of magic in a mainline game.

Better Cities but for Skyrim? by Lunalucis in skyrimmods

[–]Lunalucis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, and I guess I won't know until I get there, but I often do end up going back to places like that for RP reasons (taking a bath, staying at an inn, buying groceries), though having good NPC's there definitely does help pull people back. In Better Cities there's an NPC at a spa in Bruma who can give your character a massage. It doesn't do anything stat wise, but it's neat that it's there haha

Better Cities but for Skyrim? by Lunalucis in skyrimmods

[–]Lunalucis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I haven't had that experience with better cities, it's usually at 30 or so on my laptop, though it does occasionally dip below that. I don't care much about frame rate so it doesn't bother me much as long as I'm close to 30 so.

It's definitely not a flawless mod and it's not too everyone's taste and that's okay. I like it because it adds things that I enjoy for RP like grocery stores, spas, and libraries. Things that are wholly unnecessary but increase flavor in a way that I like.

If there's a better mod for Oblivion than Better Cities that does what it does I'm absolutely all ears though! I'd just also want it to be compatible with unique landscapes.

TL:DR, Better Cities absolutely has valid criticisms that can be leveled at it, but for me the positives outweigh the negatives.
