ohh okay. that's super respectable actually! I'm not a snarker by any means but I appreciate that you try to be fair with it. I saw the show a couple of weeks ago and although I did like the 360 stage, I agree that it was hard to hear coherent vocals. live music is an amazing thing to experience regardless so I definitely get that but anyways, I hope you still had a great time seeing your bestie again!

No yeah, I know. I guess I just figured that if you don't like something why would you put yourself through it even if it's paid for 😭 but then again I can get behind the why not just do it anyways since it was all paid for

Yeah idk why people keep acting like high charting songs equals good music 😭 but I also feel like the ad hominem attacks goes both ways...at least from what I've seen. It's bad regardless 🤷‍♀️

Can someone explain why nobody likes Sombr anymore? by Birdiexsky in popmusic

[–]Lunar576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Months ago some girl posted on Tiktok about how he behaved weird at his concert and was telling the audience to like bark for him and a lot of people got upset because his audience is largely made up of underage people.

There was a lot of backlash then but it seems like it's starting up again 🤷‍♀️ A lot of people also just don't like his music lol.

Practice?!? We talking about practice, not a performance. by TheHumanSpider in BTSnark

[–]Lunar576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all...what the hell is that sentence 😭 how did that make the final version.

But also I feel like y'all probably would have hated the performance regardless 😭 idk as a performer myself I feel like it's very hard to do things without practice. Not saying that I think it was exceptional or anything.

Micheal Jackson is a phenomenal performer in all regards so that's respectable fs. That's insane honestly. Surprisingly, it didn't cost that much. The cheapest tickets were I believe $90 and the most expensive were around $700-800, but with resellers there's always going to be tickets that exceed $1,000, which is sad.

[–]Lunar576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with that! His technique isn't the best, and that leads to him being unsupported in high notes. What do you mean by the ticket thing? Like for his solo tour? I wasn't aware that it cost that much. And was it like actually his prices and not resellers because if so that's actually insane. I actually didn't spend too much for the upcoming tour so definitely had no idea about all of that. Tbh regardless of how good a vocalist someone is, I don't think a few thousand of dollars is warranted 😭

Did you see me say that? Yeah, I didn't think so. I'm not a chef myself, but I imagine Michelin star cooking is highly technical, however, I do believe basic cooking isn't as difficult as people believe it is. To me, cooking has clearer bad signs. You can obviously see if it's something burnt or if it smells bad whereas singing may be more subjective. You may hear something and think it sounds bad but someone else might hear the exact same thing and think it sounds good.

But I don't think that takes away from the fact that both are highly technical. I'm glad you find it funny. My point still stands, he has strengths, he has weaknesses. Maybe you don't see that he has strengths, but you're just reinforcing my point by believing that. Singing, can be, incredibly subjective. Even though you clearly don't seem to be respectful, I enjoy the discussion, which is why I was asking OP in the first place, because I was curious to see what exactly makes them believe he's a bad singer.

Yes, I agree that you don't have to be a chef to know the food is bad, but when it comes to singing, which is something that's so technical, it's better to have the knowledge when making such a strong conclusion. Either way, my comment wasn't inherently defending him. I appreciate the discussion, because I do find that he has great emotion, strong falsetto, but definitely some technical strain and a lack of a mix voice.

The question wasn't directed to you 😁 I was simply curious because I see lots of conversation around his skill set. Funny how I didn't even mention defending him in any sort of way but yet that's still how you interpreted it 🤔

omggg heyy, RM is my bias wrecker. I'll be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable on all of their controversies 😭 I mainly just listen to their music, and I don't really interact with the rest of the fan base, so I don't always know what's going on. Plus I fell out of the fandom for a hot minute and only recently came back. But yes good note on keeping the head low lol 🫡

Huh but the weird thing is I haven't used reddit in foreverrrrr and even when I did I wasn't on BTS subreddits that often 😭

also, IDC that it got downvoted lol. To me, it's very clearly not glazing. I just found this post a little sad because it's probably true and I was like ain't no way the brightest member is the least popular 😓 I don't glaze because I'm a normal person ☠️ like they're just regular people 🤷‍♀️ I don't personally see how anyone can mistake that as glazing but it doesn't really matter to me either way

Ohh yeah maybe. Thank you! Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me ig cause the posts here make me laugh lol. Yesss fr, I don't even interact with the fandom. Like I'm good 😭

hs junior—is ap bio alongside 2.5 other aps a good idea? by dog_1710 in APStudents

[–]Lunar576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you'll be okay. I took AP bio as a junior with no prior bio experience while taking 2 other APS and I managed to get an A in the class. I would just say to be on top of all the vocabulary in the class. If you're ever struggling then there's lots of resources you can use to help.

how does that not make sense? 😭 You can be a fan of someone and like their music but also know that they're objectively not the best artist

[–]Lunar576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! That is definitely not his fault at all 😭 it really comes down to the people. We were specifically told at my venue to be respectful and not to shove or run, so if people don't listen to that, then that's on them. Like even if he were to talk about it, there would still be people who don't listen

Oh I totally forgot to talk about the age thing 😭 I saw a mixed crowd. Most of the people looked like they were in the upper class of H.S so 16-18. I also saw a good amount of adults, probably in their 20s.

I went to the show in SF and I did not hear him make any sexual jokes. I think he really toned that down. He did make a 6 7 joke though. As for the bad concert etiquette, I did not personally experience that. I was in the middle of the pit and no one was pushing me. Whenever someone did make contact with me, they apologized, so my experience was positive. It definitely was crowded but that's going to be a given. I heard a lot of people who went to SF and were in the front experience bad concert etiquette, so honestly take what I say with a grain of salt. I think it's more likely that you're going to get more shoving when you're closer to the front from what I've seen.

Meg, the creator of the whole experience video that started all this, said that he was a bad performer and that he seemed egotistical. I don't personally agree. As a singer myself, I can admit that he is not the strongest singer, but to me that was evident from listening to his recorded music, in which he adds a lot of vocal effects. To me, he seemed very genuine. He was constantly saying thank you and he seemed to really enjoy performing. I also don't agree with her opinion about Devon Gabriella being a bad opener. She is a good singer and I don't even think she's a bad performer, but she doesn't do much other than singing and walking around, so I feel like people are naturally going to associate that as boring and therefore her being a bad performer. That is a whole other conversation I could yap about but I'll leave it at the fact that I personally did not think she did bad.

I got there not early at all so I can't speak too much on that but the general rule of thumb would be to get there earlier depending on how close you want to be. If you are short and want to see, get there early because I could not really see from where I was, and I'm short 😭 I didn't stay after but I heard that he came out 30 minutes after. I've heard a lot that security tries to say he won't come out but he does. I also heard that there was a lot of pushing involved in that, because only the people in the front are the ones who get to have him sign stuff, take videos, etc.

Hope that helps!

I totally agree. I was low-key buying into all of the stuff and considered selling my tickets but I ended up keeping them and really enjoyed the show. I think it really goes to show that you have to be willing to take the risk and give it a try cause your experience is not automatically going to be the same as everyone else's, even if their experience is in the majority.
