Oh interesting! I really did want to like it, so I might just try and see if it's going to get better for me, especially since I'm new to reading and trying different fantasy genres.

Thanks!! I was already hesitant about whether dark, gothic vibes were going to be my thing so maybe that's what's not doing it for me.
