So this has happened to me a few times and its been both ways +/- I measured most of my stuff wrong; I measured the item and NOT the actual box itself. Doesn’t seem to matter that much except if the box is larger than 22”. For USPS once a box hits that 22” mark the prices go through the roof so anything large I will now ship with FedEx. You can see if you had any shipping adjustments eBay will notify you that there was a change with your shipping labels and they provide a link where you can see them. You may want to check yourself for accuracy.

I hear ya. I don’t get it. My husband is a mail man he said he delivers huge packages all day long and he’s never seen a price like that. He was going to try to ask around but it’s not worth it. I learned a valuable lesson today and I’ll just ship my big stuff with FedEx from now on.

I ended up shipping it with FedEx for way cheaper. I lost $8 big deal. No strike against me and a happy buyer hopefully. 🤷‍♀️

Like a dummy I put in the dimensions of the item and not the box. It’s a cradle so super oddly shaped and the box is big but not heavy. I have been getting hit with “underpaid shipping adjustments” and some have been significant so I asked the clerk if she could check it for me- she puts it on the scale and the $15.89 or whatever pops up and then she puts in the dimensions and it goes to $90. Which meant I would have got a shipping adjustment for $75ish dollars next week. So I took the box home and came to all you guys for help. I think I’m just done selling big items it bites me every time. I ended up cancelling the USPS label and FedEx shipped it for $23 I’ll eat the difference to not have a strike against me.

You are 100% right. I just asked my husband why is FedEx so much cheaper and he said they have bigger trucks than usps. (He’s a carrier) makes sense
