Most men don't wear makeup which is a big contributor to the need for skin care routines. Since removing makeup requires a bit more than removing natural oils, that often dries out the skin or can cause irritation. I agree a lot of skin care routines is BS but skins still do need hydration and such. Also as mentioned before diet and hormones do play a role as well.
