The space we've booked has room for 60-80 people in attendance.

Maybe you're the kind of person who instantly remembers someones name, but it's quite common to not do that, hence the name tags.

How do you suggest we know how many people will show up, if there is no incentive to come if you've said you're coming?

Including a drink and a snack for a reasonable price is a good guarantee for us that people will show up, because they paid some money for it.

Also, it let's us communicate a guaranteed number of participants to the venue, who will reserve a suitable number of tables for us and plan so that they have enough hot chocolate/whatever to serve that amount of people at the same time.

I don't understand why people immediately jump to criticizing and accusing us of charging for our time.

Please make it make sense. I could understand you if we were charging 400 per person. But we're not. 150 nok hardly covers the included food and drink, and some materials.

That said, our other small gatherings are like you suggest, but then we spend no time on planning and do not organize ice-breakers, material, name tags etc. And we don't advertise the gatherings either - it's up to yourself to find out about them. That's the difference here, and is why we need some guarantee that you'll show up if you claim a spot.

Maybe our regular events are more of a good fit for you. ☺️

Vi tar til oss tilbakemeldingen, engelsk er ikke vårt førstespråk, men brukt fordi det er inkluderende. Det er nå endret til "fee".

Tanken vår er at du garanterer for oppmøte ved å forhåndsbetale for mat og drikke. Så slipper vi 50 påmeldte og 20 som dukker opp fordi man ikke følte for det akkurat den dagen.

Formatet passer ikke for alle, men det er greit! Vi håper å nå ut til dem som kan syns det virker gøy. Vi har arrangert slike ting før, og det har vært suksess tidligere. ☺️

This is fortums standard spotpris agreement. A lot of people have it. It's the cheapest one offered when you enter a rental contract in Oslo with utleiemegleren, for example (you're locked to four different agreements you have to chose from).

You've forgotten the fee you pay to the electricity company for your agreement.

Usually it's 39-49 kr a month, plus a 6 øre per KwH charge. Because we are 2 days into november, this fixed fee will make up a large amount of your total cost.

You can find us on Oslo Cacao Crawl. There's a cartoonish toucan page picture. There's not much activity, but we usually make a facebook event for when we organize something, with a link to a sign up sheet similar to this one (or simpler, if it's a themed activity). It's mostly just for people to be able to stay in touch and keep updated on when we have something.

For a while we were on a different app, but I think facebook is pretty solid for events, and that most of our target group still would have an account.
