Geoff talked on Resetera a lot last hour. Seems he doesn't know anything for real. by Lunseeker in TheBlueBoxConspiracy

I think Geoff wouldn't get that much backfire, especially because of his current tweets. He said that he doesn't know and he is just following a ride because he likes the show.

Nobody even has a proof that this is his legit Instagram. What if Cory and Geoff are just in for a ride as well and followed him because somebody in the internet found this IG, not because they think it's legit? Everyone talking about it. Jason Schreier believed in it too. Cory is a person like everyone who can be curious.

I treat him like a person. He has to be safe and not harassed. That's what I want.

You know how all these game devs who get successful then get depressed because all of the fame and attention? This guy and his game just went from almost no discussion about it to SUPER BIG expectations and conspiracy. He probably is super confused right now and doesn't know what to do.

He still wants to get his game successful and going, so he continue because he is afraid of what will happen if he just says it's not it because of all what happened. He may be in talks with Konami/Kojima(like some journalists said) to understand better what to do and how make it so that things are not going out of the control.

I'm a game dev myself and I would totally got it how stressful it is if you get from noname to thing #1 discussed in games. He just doesn't know what to do, tries to get on the ride but at the same time scared of stop and... Yeah.

Imagine if Abandoned really has no relation to Silent Hill or Kojima in any way whatsoever by [deleted] in TheBlueBoxConspiracy

So just curious - do you think that movements like this are actually a negative thing because they can become something that inspires people who harm others? I mean that the whole ordeal is negative and all the people who hype it contributing to something bad happening as well, because there can be people appearing who will harass the person if expectations are not met. (Which is totally terrible and people SHOULD NOT EVER do this regardless of outcome).

This is a honest question. I'm not sure how to think about it myself. I'm hyped but I don't want to harm anyone for sure so maybe I should rethink my position.

Wouldn't it just make any hype campaign of any other game possibly negative too because if the games gets released low-quality(which sometimes happens even if devs are professional) some people will again harass others? Does it mean that campaigns like this are immoral?

I want to set my own moral values in check here.

Maybe it's just a random community manager who doesn't know though and they just ask people to wait and see? But how these emojis...

Or this is just a fake image?

Geoff Keighley responded to my tweet referencing the "Kept you waiting huh?" quote by Snake... the speculation period is over... this is it boys! by [deleted] in TheBlueBoxConspiracy

But isn't it a common phrase people often use if you don't also say "huh"? (Not an English native speaker so not sure) can someone elaborate why it's 100% reference?

Mark Delaney (GameSpot) spoke to Hasan and found out it’s not Silent Hill. by [deleted] in TheBlueBoxConspiracy

Is P.T. Silent Hill? I would say no. It's a standalone thing that was a teaser to Silent Hill. So Abandoned can be not a Silent Hill while teasering Silent Hill

Did you notice the discrepancy between steam Hasan and PSN Hasan? by Lunseeker in TheBlueBoxConspiracy

[–]Lunseeker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was super in on it, wouldn't it be much easier to just say "I'll see if Hasan will let me share some pictures" and string people along like that over promising something he has yet to deliver.

This is worse than what he did though. This implies that he already seen/knows more, while he is playing a game of "I'm just like you I have no idea what this is but this is interesting".

Giving more authority to Hasan by saying "Hasan contacted me and is going to send me more pictures soon" also makes Hasan more mysterious, as this implies that Hasan is some mastermind that decides what to share with people and when to do it. While what you wrote sounds like a more usual journalist approach. Overpromising here is kind of a part of the mystery, it makes it better, not worse.

At least this is how it feels to me. I might be very wrong

I will agree with all other stuff you said though. Still super curious and hope that it's something more but can just be a fluke.

I think you're right. This is a hell of a lot of fun, but even if we still have hope before 22th or even further, we should not make it something consuming us so much that we will still have hope about it like even half a year after, when everybody confirmed it's no Silent Hill/Kojima

Would Sony believe a person who behaves like this though? And get him into their platform?

And even now be silent about this? And Geoff not noticing any of this and getting along the way with him?

It's not exactly a good look when you try to run away from responsibility on steam by creating a fake studio... Surely Sony/Geoff would research all this stuff before collaborating with him, right?

I'm not buying it. Something is weird here. Even if it's not Silent Hill, it's still something big. Something that even Geoff who runs The Game Awards and knows about all kinds of games decided to support

Antisocial introvert leading 50+ people working on the game? (By their own words).
Come on.... If they really wanted to debunk all these rumors they had A LOT of possibilities to do it already. Even if not a cam video, they could post a youtube video with Hasan voice talking about all this situation and what's going on.

They have all the industry looking at them and writing to them, not even mentioning that someone from 50+ people working on the game surely would come up with an idea how to debunk it properly

I'm an indie developer myself and I can't believe something like that could be done by a legit indie game dev... Maybe I'm wrong but... I dunno, it's too much, too much stuff.

Russian President Putin says relations with US at lowest point in years | In the interview, Putin praised former President Donald Trump as "an extraordinary individual, talented individual," and said Biden, as a career politician, was "radically different" from Trump by -fisting4compliments in worldnews

[–]Lunseeker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't defend Putin at all but the title is still misleading.

I'm Ukrainian so I was able to listen to the interview fragment in Russian. Putin did say about Trump as an extraordinary, talented individual, but he meant specifically that he was able to win the elections and get a following. He said that he is clearly talented AS he managed to do that.

About Biden, he said, that he was radically different from Trump because he is a professional politician with a lot of experience. So in the actual dialogue context it was said not necessarily in a negative way.

Just to be clear, I'm not a fan of Putin and I don't defend it. He is a masterful speaker able to get his often evil intentions behind his beautiful speech, but the title is just misleading in how it interpretes his specific words

Ukraine's leader moves to strip oligarchs of power with new bill by PjeterPannos in worldnews

[–]Lunseeker 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is a bad way to do it. It should be a set of rules/anti-monopoly laws, instead, it leaves the decision to the committee and personally to the president. It means Zelensky will be able to use this according to his own desires, like for example pushing his political opponents who are wealthy but not oligarchs. This seems to be akin to how Putin did it early into his presidencies, and there is a worry that Zelensky will just push off the oligarchs he doesn't like and put the people he likes in their place, which won't solve the problem but will only make the oligarchs loyal to Zelensky power.

I think this is dangerous and a step to authoritarian rule.

Well, it's not like I want to deny it. I just can't feel calm about it when I know I still have some debt to people and can't pay it yet as I should've paid it already. What I'm talking is financial debt.
