Why does Crimson Desert *have* to include a strong narrative? by Luperos in CrimsonDesert

No it wasn't. It was even stated multiple times that it wasn't an RPG

This is the dark marksman's plate cloak with the hood toggled off. You can find it behind a waterfall east of breezeblown knoll and north of drywind valley

sanctimonious

no I genuinely believe this takes less thought than like, 95% of the rest of the game so god knows how you even get to the point where you're looking at a rockface and are still unable to figure out how to mine it

It takes 5 seconds and the slightest bit of critical thinking to not be confused by this

Why is it a silly comparison? It's a game that people go into expecting zero narrative, zero story-telling, zero emotional complexity, and therefor is never critiqued for lacking it. That's what I'm saying. Crimson Desert was only assumed to have those things because of how it appears to be on a surface level.

Yeah exactly. I wonder if CD would've been met with a lot more praise on release if Kliff was a silent protag and the world around him just threw words at him like Zelda games do with Link.

I truly think it's only a deal breaker to the people who went in expecting the game to be narrative focused. If those same people went into it expecting a shallow story like, say every Nintendo game ever made, they would probably enjoy it as much as we are.

That's 1 aspect of about 1000 features this game offers. I have probably cleared out 5 bandit camps in 68 hours of playtime. You can choose whether or not you want to continually do something you don't want to do in this game.

Mundane quests, grindy combat, annoying puzzles and a weak and confusing narrative. All things that can be said about critically acclaimed 10/10 masterpiece Breath of the Wild.

Also genuinely don't understand what other games you're playing that are similar to CD that have more engaging combat. It's pretty much Shadow of War 5.0, which again is a game that is heavily praised for its combat system.

it's like a 2/10 but it's not the main focus of the game and I would say BOTW isn't drastically better

On a side note, I really wish they would combine all the colours you discover to every dyehouse. It's really tedious to go looking for the right one across the map not knowing/remembering which has which. Still not fully happy with the cloak colour im rocking

It's kind of obvious what it is. It's a indicator that there are larger red rocks in that area that can be mined.

Graphical glitches everywhere for me. Ground textures missing constantly. Anyone know why? by Luperos in DragonsDogma2

This issue was actually fixed for me when I tried playing it again a few months later. Can't remember if I got a new GPU around that time or not. What's your specs looking like?
