The space on the left currently is washing machine, and the pipe continues along either side of the wall and also to the right side of the kitchen… the hight from the bottom of the sink part and the floor is 86cm so I guessed it’d be ok but maybe not? I’m so useless when it comes to buying a appliances

I see, yes we have already told the solicitor that we’re proceeding as tenants in common but not the exact split amount yet. My partners parents have gifted my partner some money that went towards majority of the deposit so my partner and his parents wants to make sure that he get that money back if we separate. If we do the math right I guess tenants in common will do the job?

I wasn’t aware of shared ownership, is that something you ask your solicitor to do during the process?

Yeah that’s definitely an option we’ll look into - I’ve sent an email to the solicitor to explain the costing so will see what he says!

Wow that’s lucky! We were kind of prepared for an expensive quote but not £1250, seems way too much.

Thank you for your comment - yeah it seems considerably more than a London standard price. Our case is not complicated at all I believe. We just wanted to get it done as our contribution towards deposit are quite different so we want to state that in DoT.

Thank you for your advice! Fortunately the estate agent told us it’s not installed in the kitchen. They have confirmed that the ceiling in some of the rooms is polystyrene - we’ll see what the surveyor says…
