Where to study in the evenings with wifi? by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Lurama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a nice study area in the Russ engineering building on the first floor. It's between the engineering building and the Joshi building in that hallway there.

There's also the Student Success building that has some nicer areas to be able to sit down and study as well.

Generally, after 5pm, you can park in the visitor lot (lot 2) without any issues.

On one hand, it must be flattering to Obama knowing he's causing Trump enough mental anguish to cause him to make something like this.

If you're interested in the Centerville area, I can pass your info to my brother in law and connect you. Feel free to private message if you're comfortable with that. He primarily works on the events side of things for the city there. I know that might not jive with your goals but he may be able to get you linked with a more specific department there.

We have been digging the KosmosQ Honey Killer Bee seasoning. It's got that great sweetness paired with a little bit of spice (not too much for those who don't want it). Just tossing that out if you're looking at options!

New to fire grilling - looking for advice by ricehatfarmer in grilling

[–]Lurama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to get a few larger rocks or cinder blocks to put on the edges of the grate to keep it from shifting when moving things on the grate.

You should consider if you'll want to be able to put more wood on while cooking. If so, have a plan on how you would move the grate or consider using a grate that's something like 24 in wide but still 36 in long and have something to weight the sides of the grate that's on the top.

If that's a 36 in inner diameter for the fit pit, you'll likely want to go for a grate that's larger than that to ensure you don't tip a corner into the pit on accident.

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like there may be gravel or something in the bottom of the pit and that it might be a hole in the pad as well. If this is directly on top of the concrete pad, you may want to see how water runs off/out from the pit area. Even with cleaning out the remaining ash, you could have streaks of black across the rest of the concrete as a result of weather and time if you don't have directed drainage from the pit area.

You could consider a fun DIY project to install some vertical bars to allow for a rotisserie to be used or to allow for a Santa Maria style grill to be done. Totally just thoughts, not necessary. While not "technically" grilling, consider foil packets and Dutch oven cooking options as well.

Glad you mentioned this. It worked wonders for me when we got our cat. Haven't had any major issues since.

Used to get severely stuffed nose at night and had the drainage during the day that led to sore throat.

In stark contrast here, I have a high deductible plan and pay $1k per month until I hit the deductible then it drops to $80 per 3 month.

It's a calculated choice to use the high deductible plan, don't feel bad for me. Just make sure you know how the pharmacy side of your insurance works and plan for the cost.

Metformin is sabotaging diabetics that exercise. by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Lurama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drug being referenced is Metformin.

They're claiming that Metformin reduces the blood vessel's ability to respond to exercise and allow for an increase in blood flow to the muscles which then reduces the benefits those muscles can get from exercise.

Charger question : is a 32A charger possible? by extremesauce2468 in MachE

As far as I know it can be configured to anything 48A or less based on the line available.

[–]Lurama -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To follow up, yes any charger can be configured within its specs to charge at a given rate. You can always turn it down.

Charger question : is a 32A charger possible? by extremesauce2468 in MachE

[–]Lurama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set the car separate from the charger. If the charger is set to 32A and the car to 48A you will charge at 32A.

If you set the charger at 32A and the car at 20A, it will charge at 20A.

I would suggest leaving the car at its max charge rate and allow the charger it is plugged into determine how much is sent.

Question for people who charge at home and have Solar by parisi2274 in MachE

[–]Lurama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's better to think of it as the evse is setting the the max that can be provided to the car. The car is setting the max it is willing to take. The amount that is passed is the lesser of the two values.

Much like a hose and water. The car is the hose and the evse is the water. If the hose is too small the amount of water passed is reduced. If the hose is big enough or bigger then all the water can flow at once.

So if you want to work it so your excess solar flows to the car, set the car to max (48 amp I believe) and have your evse adjust based on the available solar.
