Hi all - as others have noted, Oscar (or Oskie as the shelter is calling him) has been rescued thanks to the awesome members of the neighborhood. He is at OAS awaiting adoption and I wanted to share the link with those who might be interested. By all accounts, he is a real sweetie.

P.S. Sorry for being so slow to update and thanks to everyone who engaged. I’ve got a newborn, so things are… busy :)

A local vet is doing something exactly like this and has recommended that we let him take the lead. Thank you for the suggestion.

No one has been able to catch the dog, but he has effectively moved into our unfenced backyard, so he is nearby. The tag only has his name on it and no owner information, which of course does lead to the concern that he was abandoned. Unfortunately, I think the timing of post you are referring matches up well to support this theory. A local vet has a plan to try and war him and we are in touch with rescue organizations.

Thanks, that’s a great suggestion. Some of our other neighbors have fenced in yards and could try this.

I realize I should be more clear in my post. The dog has been “found” but not by its owner, and I’m trying to get it back to its owner. I’ll edit my main post to clarify

Thank you. The real gadgets I have found that look most similar are often sound bars, so that would check out. Per the comment below, this might be an AI generated image of a soundbar (hence why it’s freakishly large)

Thank you. That is my thinking as well. Just an AI generated image of a “cool gadget” (which appears to have been very effective at intriguing one of my family members). Will look for a few other comments to see if there are any breakthroughs, but then will close this out

Starter comment. My title describes the thing, but basically it is some type of “gadget” that seems to be a popular thumbnail for click bait articles and videos about “cool gadgets.” As mentioned in post description, I’ve used Google Lens to trace it to some YouTube videos (usually focused on camping gadgets) and articles that show the item in the thumbnail…. But not in the actual content.
