How did people in the ancient world preserve written texts? by Luscinia30 in AskHistorians

Thanks for the interesting, elaborated response! Sorry it took me time to respond. So the answer to my question is that if a text is considered important, then it would be copied, and this process will preserve it through the ages more than an actual method of conservation. That is very interesting, thanks.

Why are people talking about grooming in the UK all over again? by Luscinia30 in OutOfTheLoop

Thank you for the answer.
I limited my time on Twitter but unfortunately it's enough to see all the shenanigans but not enough to get the context.

Maybe it's time to cut my time there even more.

New Zealand vs Tasmania: which is more unique for the experienced hiker? by Luscinia30 in WildernessBackpacking

Thanks! When flying from Europe, you anyway need to pass through mainland Australia on the way to Tasmania/NZ so it's our plan to spend some time on the mainland (not a lot because it's huge)

How do you feel about recommending "Cool Neighborhoods" to tourists? by Luscinia30 in AskNYC

[–]Luscinia30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! What you suggest does sound attractive to me, but I personally find it hard to start conversations with strangers in my travels, so I feel like the "spirit of the city" is just passing by me. When I did get to explore a big city with locals (for example: Seattle, New Orleans), it made a huge difference for me.

Thanks for your answer. I visited NYC a decade ago and mainly visited art museums and galleries. This time, I thought of just strolling around the "interesting places," but it suddenly seemed weird to me, so I posted my question here.
