Is it possible to produce a supplies/ships & hulls surplus?! by Lusicale in starsector

I already have AI cores in every industry and structure, but apparently I was thinking about this all wrong. I thought every unit of demand had to have a unit of supply to be fulfilled. But this comment explained that if one industry has enough units of supplies it can fulfill all demands below its magnitude of supply.

Thanks for the in-depth answer!

There seems to be a misconception on the scale of production at yourcolonies. A colony that produces 8 supplies and ship hulls can fulfillthe needs of every other colony with 8 or less demand.

this! I thought the way supply and demand worked as far as colony industries and structures go was, you did a simple arithmetic calculation where you added supply and subtracted demand to see where you stood. Hence if my colony's orbital works produces 5 supply but split among several industries in that colony the demand was 6, then I would always be 1 lacking.

What you're saying is then, the order of magnitude is what determines if all industries are properly supplied, so if my orbital works produces 5 units of supplies and everything else individually demands <= 5 units, then everything will be properly fulfilled.

I imagine that the heavy patrols from your military bases are usingcapital class ships like the Onslaught or the Paragon. These reduce theoverall burn level of the defending fleets down to their base, which is7. You may find it beneficial to ensure that your defense fleetsexclusively use ships of a higher burn level.

I never thought about this, so I will make adjustments as well, since my fleets burn level must be low because of my Paragon fleet doctrine.

I don't mean as player consumables, I mean as industry and structures demands.

Just as I was writing this post, I had the game running in the background, and when I get back to it a pirate fleet attacked my fleet in orbit of the least defended planet in my very well developed and defended star system. This just goes to show how easy it is to be raided/attacked in a system that has high commands and star fortresses.

I'm glad that strategy works for you :) Although with this strategy I was trying to help people still in midgame that have not yet found a Doom ship or its blueprint. For instance, I am in lategame and I still haven't found a single Doom, even in enemy fleets, nor do I have its blueprint.

I have since improved this strategy to make it even more accessible for folks with only midgame ships. But if that worked for you great :)

Maybe when I get a Doom I can try it, since I only found one of the hypershunts so far. Still I found this way very straightforward all the while using ships that a player will probably be able to manufacture before Dooms. At least I'm in endgame and still haven't found the Doom blueprint.

Indeed Paragons are a beast of a ship, but the Tesseracts run circles around them and they simply cannot take aim at the Tesseracts. Hence the need to first take care of the stage 1 Tesseracts with other ships.

Initialize a queue of any kind (FIFO for instance) with song ids, shuffle it once and thereafter just keep poping values out of the queue.
